Hey guys an gals. So Im looking at buying a Celica. I live in Canada and have a few questions. Basically what Im wondering is what would be a reasonable price for a Celica. All the Celicas I have seen range from $12,000 to $20,000 with mileage ranging from 95,000km to 250,000km. The majority of what I see is around the $15,000 mark but has high mileage (around 130,000km and up). There was only one that I have seen that seemed reasonable when comparing it to other vehicles ($10,000 for 95,000km). Can anyone tell me what kind of price and mileage is reasonable. Usually I would go for under 100,000km but it would seem that once someone has a Celica they drive the hell out of it. So yeah, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Can't help much, since the price of a used Celica is much lower in the States than in Canada.
For me, I am looking at 2000-2002 GT-S within the 70,000 miles or more range for less than $9,000.

Yeah I got mine in this summer from the states for 6500 USD with shipping and taxes it costed just under $10 000. It was an 2000 gts with only 81,000km on it. I got a really good deal some guy just wanted to get rid of it and couldn't find anyone to buy it. There pretty expensive here if you want low km. I think you can find a good one for under 15 grand for sure. Wait until spring and there will be more options.

agreed about the states thing, if your not too far out it'd be a significant savings.
Also, 00-01 manual GT-S seems the best route for performance, 03-05 have a restyled front and rear bumper as well as a black interior and interior lights that all match (and a few mechanical and options differences).
All i can say is, if you care AT ALL about performance in any way, don't get an auto.
also, the auto gt-s is slower then pretty much anything else.

prices varies, i looked online throughout the US and i found out that the prices depends on the area its in. so you can look in the blue book... www.kbb.com <--- recommend you using it.

Thanks guys, sorry for the delayed response. Yeah I see what you mean about the US thing, Im definitely gonna wait till around June to take a serious look, like TCgts said, there will probably be more on the market around then. And after Radical's comment I will state that my only reason for a GT would be outrageous insurance and that I am planning on an manual and yes, some minor performance tweaks on a GTS. My first would probably be a RAM intake but thats a given an im not sure where im heading after that. Any ideas? Im not lookin for anything too intense right now because the chances of me getting to use peak performance are fairly slim. Im taking a look on KBB now, thanks guys i will let u know how it goes. But yeah if you have any ideas on performance let me know.

start with the basics for performance, intake/header/exhaust. once you get that done, (and still have plenty of money to spare) you can start thinking about things like powerfc and forced induction.
go to eBay - go to advanced search and select "completed auctions"
check out what they've actually sold for in your area, and offer around there.
The problem with edmunds/kbb/nada is that they don't update them as rapidly as the market functions, so you need to do your own research on eBay.
ignore "asking price" - only look at completed auctions in green, which means they actually sold.

This is what me and my dad while we were looking for a new boat. Its a very useful technique and will help you out significantly. Also you may want to plan a day to drive into the US if you find one that you like on the other side of the border. Look at pictures and see if its worth the trip and then go out look and drive it. Best I can offer you. Just try the US market first since the Canadian market is much more expensive.
