painted drum brake????

Has anyone painted their drum brake in the back. I have painted the caliper in the front but I think it would look better if I painted the back also eventhough it is drum. Has anyone done this, if so can you put some pics up or just tell me how it looks? Thanks

I've seen it done, and it looks cool, as long as the color compliments in contrast... make it uniform with your calipers up front...

I painted my wife's brake calipers and drums and it looks nice I don't care if somebody thinks its rice or not its all about what you think of your car.

I personally think they are ugly if they are too bright of a color. Oh yeah, people....CHILL WITH THAT FUKING "ricey" BULLSH!T...Its about time people stop calling things rice b/c people with a civic do the same their cars! I like to call it, "accessorized".

I painted mine and I think it look s great. I bet if I had sketched little grains of rice on top of the red heat resistant paint I used it woulda looked ricey though.

The term rice does not even exist (to me anyway). I am definetly not into some things that may add "cheezyness" to the look of a car, BUT call it what you want it --- I painted the drums on my car and I believe it looks fine. It is not even noticable really, but I think it dresses up the appearance and helps provide a cleaner look to the ride. I would recommend painting the drums the same color as the car though. If not paint them a gloss black. The drums on the celica are smaller than the drums on some other cars (for instance I had a 95 Eclipse and the drums on the back were much bigger than that of the eclipse). It is not what some people may refer to as "rice" ---- JUST AS LONG as it is done in good taste (ie. no yellow drums on a red car) --- but then again -- if that is your cup of tea, then go for it. i painted mine silver, to match my car. and they look nice behind the rims. i don't think its rice and i think half the people cars in here look ricey.

i painted my front calipers red and my rear drums white (cuz i have a red/white theme going on). it actually looks really good and has helped me win shows cuz not that many people do that. as long as you use high heat paint and dont paint it something obnoxious, i think it looks good...

I agree. That "ricey" BS is dumb. Just cuz one person thinks its ricey dont mean others will. Do what you like. Its your car that you have to look at everyday. I think it looks nice.
