just wondering......does any1 have this combo?? it's the same set of rimz but different sizes.......will this effect the car somehow??? proz and conz any1??.....the reason i'm asking is cuz this way i will not loose out on the potential speed loss on 18" in the front

silly idea.
the 18's on the rear will hurt performance as much as having 18's on the front. the engine isn't directly turning the rears, but they have to turn nonetheless.
the only true con I can think of is that you'll be screwed as far as tire rotation goes
but there are zero pros

i agree. Theres a guy here with a older celica that did this, and while i have to admit it looks good, I could tell it slowed the car down as i drive it for him when he has to deploy.

a pro could be that if you hit a pot hole u'll know to slow down for the rear wheels ... well just a thought

I don't know why every one says that it won't work and you won't get any benafites from it?
It makes sense to me, putting the 17's on the front would reduce the rotational mass. Sure, the 18's have to turn too, but the engine isn't turning them, so the weight back there will slow you down exactly the same amount as putting weight on the inside of your car, no more, no less. I can't comment on how it would look, because I havent seen it before, and I can't comment on how, and if, it will effect your handling, but it will put more power down to the road. Your theory is correct.

mmm this would make it impossible to rotate (unidirectional) tires... at least without looking pretty retarded. ;)

i don't care about "rotating".....i just want to know the proz and cons about it......and btw chameleon.....that's the same thing i was thinking about too....that's y i had to ask

Yes, the engine is turning them...albeit more indirectly than the fronts. Try making them turn without the engine sometime. (and restricting yourself to all downhill driving is cheating.)
