well wait 3 months from the manufacturing date of your car so that the pasint has cured. The date should be on the door jamb. After that wax away.
BlueBomber: Ha! That's so true. 'Course I've actually never waxed a car before so I'm kind of uptight about the whole procedure. But I'm sure once I do it a couple times it'll be a snap. One thing I am even more unsure about is paint chips. So far so good but I really don't feel confident about how I'll handle them. Everybody says you've gotta deal with them right away and it sounds so urgent. I need to read up more. I never got any touch-up paint with my car so maybe I better get some.
Scrub: I asked the service guy at Toyota and he said I can wax right away. I'll check the door jamb though to be sure.
BTW, if I had the money to spend and wanted to bring it to Toyota for a wash/wax, do you think they do a good job and use good quality wax? Maybe I should call them and ask what they use and how long it's going to last (if they give me an honest answer).

You should look into Zaino, check this section of the forum for more detail on your options.
Oldster: Yeah, Zaino is in almost every post here! But I've never seen it in CanTire or Walmart. I'm not in a position to order any products off the Internet so don't know if I can get a hold of Zaino.

You can't get Zaino off the internet but the ordering instructions are on their site.

I have the Zaino system and I can testify that it is the best, although it does take quite some time to do. Anyways, I would wait a month or two before waxing. I did, and I had no problems.
