my 02 celica gt 5spd....when i turn on the engine its quiet and then gets loud then repeats this.. anyone knows whats wrong? or is it normal?

mine does that when it's warming up. RPM's go up at idle until it's warmed up. is that what you're talking about?

does it only do when its cold or warm? it could also be a vaccum leak mine does it when its warm and the computer takes over. but im sure i got a air bubble around my coolant temp senor which will cause a funny idle. i sent you a pm to idk if you got it or not. still not sure how half this site works

im saying if the engine is warm or cold the air temp. like does it do it rite away after you start it or after the cars engine has been warmed up

like my idle sometimes is very high I assume likely due to the A/C being on and the alternator running to chare the battery up, not sure how much juice my carputer is taking up after i turn the car off
