I understand alot of the physics behind actual car dyamics, but I am interested in understanding certain setups and how to improve aspects of power output, as well as suspension setups for cars. What i mean is that I understand alot of what goes on, but I am interested in looking at why certain things happen, and how to improve. Does anybody have a good site other than howstuffworks.com ?

Most avanced control systems stuff you either have to go to school for or buy books. Theres a pretty decent book they used to make called "How to build horsepower" that coveres the reasons behind pretty much all of the NA performance mods you'll hear about.
If your talking about the logic that runs the factory ECM your SOL. You have to either know the right people or reverse engineer it - companies aren't exactly all about publishing that stuff. I mean there are certain basic truths behind all feedback engine management systems, but there are a lot of diferences in sensor technology and what is done with the info gathered.
as for suspension I dunno whats out there on the net.

Buy this book NSXman:
Competition car suspension by Allan Staniforth
Also buy this one if you want a practical application:
How to make your car handle by Fred Phun.
Together you'll get a pretty good idea of how to fine-tune your suspension characteristics to your driving style, also get you a better understanding of suspension operating fundamentals.
What else you need to know about man?
-Engine?
-Drivetrain?
-Gearing?
-Brake?

Is there anything specific about the engine you need to know?

Aight MSXman uhhh yeah that kinda breaks it down a little LOL.
What about these seperate systems do you want to know, brake torque relates to suspension crossloading directly, so does accleration and cornering, brake booster vacuum relates directly to actuation force upon the master cylinder and so on so forth, the drivetrain is a complicated matter, but is simplified somewhat with Celica's FWD, what is it that you want to know about the drivetrain?
Specifics puhleeeeeeze?

I am not really looking for anything specific on the celica, I am just looking for good material in general. Different setups and how they work, not what they do. I know for the most part what happens when you change a setup, but I am interested in how that setup actually works. I am kinda looking for an in depth howstuffworks.com kinda thing. I am sorry I am not being specific, thanks for your suggestions though :)

Dont worry about it man, but you know the theories that you're gonna have to learn and how they relate to function, lets say that if we wanna discuss delfection:compression per wheel as influenced by crossloading and tuning via stabalizer link we're gonna burn the bandwith to hell! Best bet without getting banned from here is to pick up the titles mentioned above. You got a great wanting for learning man, respect to you on that one, I want to learn about Toyota(I usually post on Hyundai-related sites, but I want to learn new things now)and figured this was the best place to start.
Good luck man!
