I am selling a used Drivesoft carputer that was installed in my '07 Camry. The package comes with the necessary harnesses, IR remote control, and a mobile roll up keyboard. Price for the unit alone is $1000. For an extra $100 I will include both the Axxess TY-101 (to bypass Toyota JBL upgraded factory sound package amp) and the Pac SWI-X unit (to retain your factory steering wheel controls). For an extra $100, I will include a cordless Logitech DiNovo Mini Keyboard/Mouse that I've been using with the unit. Feel free to post here or PM if interested, have any questions

- Standard Double DIN SIZE 7

Is it possible to add software to this unit? I'm asking because this would be great to have when adding any sort of aftermarket ECU and simply being able to tune it using this.

Not to mention for more obvious things like adding games or trying to use an ipod with itunes or something like that.

Were there any software issues? Software reboots, non-responsive touchscreen, blue screen of death, lock-ups, or any other sort of typical computer hijinks?

Yes, you can add software to the unit like any other computer. For example, I added Mozilla Firefox and a software to read my Verizon satellite card to catch internet. Same goes for the iPod since it would detect it and would even display it not only on windows, but also on the interface like displayed below:
http://drivesoft.net/gallery_new/02_Screen_Shots/nd_26.jpg

I never had windows crash on me or any sort of fatal error. The only problem I had was that it would automatically exit out of the DFS (Driver Friendly Software) interface and would go back to Windows, but seldomly does this happen. I don't run many programs on the unit since there's already so many applications included with the DFS inteface.

This unit was also installed on a few cars from the show Pimp My Ride.

Sorry, but I would have to decline that offer even though its very tempting since I always loved the Trial front and would love to get the rest of the kit, but I just had a '03+ front bumper and C-One lip painted to replace my Kaminari front.

That is correct.

Shipping would be an extra $50 to the lower 48 states. This will cover Paypal fees, $1.5k insurance incase anything were to happen to this one during shipping, and tracking number.

Hey if you dont mind me asking square how much did you pay for the software alone because I am thinking of doing my own setup with this software but i would have a beefier computer side since i am one of those tech geeks ;)

Can't help you there since this is the standard software that comes with this unit. And to answer someone's question from a PM, this is a one piece unit.

What's the retail value on this? Looks really cool. Do you think it's better then some of the carputers a couple members have?

I'm really debating getting this. However since I'm really trying to stay within my monthly budget and that means I might not be able to fit this in before someone else snaps it up from you...

Where could you buy one of these brand new?

Only place I found was from their website. http://www.drivesoft.net/

No prices only contact us for a quote kind of deal. I also went browsing through torrents to see if I could find a copy of the software, no luck though.

And yes celichik this looks to be a lot better then car pc. granted car pc was just a copy of windows but this program is designed for a car ( not a desktop pc) so the interface is a lot more easier to use while drive. Also I will put money on it that running behind it is some sort of windows xp.

I am gonna contact them now and see if I can just get a copy of the software to fool around with. Anyone wanna get the cops software ;)

And square free bump for you. You will definately be able to sell this its only a matter of time =p

Retail value on this I believe is $1.5k+ depending on what kind of options you get along with the unit.

Think of the interface as any other software on a computer. You can freely minimized it and do whatever you like in Windows like any other computer. Other custom built carputers may be better when it comes to performance and specs, but I believe the selling point of this unit is the driver friendly software interface that incorporates so much functions and endless possibilities.

Got an offer for $900 for the unit alone. Anybody want to beat that before I go ahead and sell it?

Still for sale. After numerous delays and excuses I have given up on the potential buyer who made the offer.
