Cameras changed over time. I went from an XT to a 50D, and now a 5D mkII. Lenses consist of 50mm 1.4, EFS 10-22mm, 24-70L /2.8, 70-200L /2.8, and a 100-400L 4.5 (for some of those zoo shots).

My biggest problem is getting out more to places that provide great photography subjects. :P I'm also not very good at composing interesting shots. At least I never find them very interesting.

Photos are linked so you can click through and hit the "all sizes" icon if you want to see them bigger.

They are the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. Photography is a lot of fun, but it takes an extreme amount of work to do it professionally. It's also really tough to make a decent living from it. Do it as a hobby. You'll enjoy it more anyways. :) And I'm a horrible photographer. I just mask it with decent post processing. :wiggle:

Very nice Mark. How's it work? Timer? Remote controlled? Wired-remote controlled?

I just set it on the 10 second timer. Push the car and get out of the way before the shutter goes off. If there's a slight incline, I have someone sit in the car to brake after the shot is done. If the ground is completely level, sometimes I need to continuously push the car while hiding from the camera. :wiggle:

Not sure that helps much to be honest. The rig gets reflected off the car quite a bit (unless your car is white or something).

Rig setup with a wired remote shutter, mounted on another car.

wrong.

the rig is mounted on to the same car. the camera is usually equipped w/ an UWA lens and a ND filter. the nd filter is used because if you take the pictures during the day you need that longer exposure. most of these cars are probably going 2-3mph.

Trying to get more into automotive photography and the best way to do that is to shoot more cars! So this is my first photo shoot of someone else's car in a while. I think the car came out pretty well, but the background is sort of meh. The rig photos came out pretty bad because it was night and orange street lamps were killing the white balance. I didn't have much time to shoot more stills because we had to move to a new location for the rig photos and it was already getting dark. For the lighting, I used a shoot-through umbrella. Wind is almost always an issue, but I had the owner of the car hold the umbrella for me. Since I was shooting for free, I had him be my assistant. :D You can get a few sand bags to put on your light stand. I need to get a few of those.

Outdoor lighting is with strobes. I have a fixed-light softbox, but I only use that indoors.

Experimenting with some heavy post processing. I love cloudy days. :)

^If they're about your Celica, then post them in the Readers Ride section, not in the Photography section. Any others are fine.

Got a chance to shoot a 1M coupe the other day. Unfortunately it was on a really sunny day so the lighting is pretty horrible. Threw in a few other photos I took recently as well. :)
