I was putting on my dc headers today and saw that the HOW TO said to drop the whole pipe after the header but whats really pissing me off is  getting those rubber supports off those straight bars with the heads on them
Who else has taken there exhaust off and had to deal with these things. What tools did you use because I'm ready to get being the car and start pulling.:bang:

the hangers? if you got some WD-40 to lube em that'll help, then get a flathead screwdriver and wedge it in there and wiggle/pry like hell. They'll come off you just got to want it a little more.... haha jk, gl.

lmao..........already lubed her up with wd-40 but I guess ima have to get behind her and yank real hard. ;)
I got so pissed that I left it sitting on the jacks, only had one flat head though.
Lemme get this straight, gotta wiggle it first then stick the flat head in:eek:

dont use wd-40, it only prevents rust and lubricates. get some stuff called 'pb blaster', that stuff works miracles on bolts. for the hangers, get some wheel bearing grease or white lithium grease. btw, if you have a gt-s dont put the header on, you lose 1 or 2 hp on the top end...

Naaaa....its just a GT so I might gain a horsy or two. I just cant stand my car feeling like it needs to be on Jenny Craig.
IM gunna yank the **** out of it but if all else fails (knock on wood) i'll try that other lube stuff you told me about.

i had this same problem. wd-40 will work fine on the hangers. the trick to it is to get a friend or be a little flexible. one of you pull the exhaust itself and the other pull on the rubber hanger in the opposite direction. they slide off pretty easy if you apply the force in the right direction. if you just pull the exhaust the rubber bends and stretches which in essence makes the hole oblong and then the bolt head will never get through.

yes wd-40 is a must along with a flat head screwdriver. i just put a trd exhuast on my gts a few weeks ago and it was not easy at all

The rubber hangers are easy with a screwdriver and some lube. What you will find a bigger pain to take out would be the heat shield (at least it was for me on my gts).

It's not that difficult, just have to do a couple to get the hang of it.

Me and my brother got the little head out of the rubber supports and finally said, Fu{k it.
We just removed the whole raidator support bar. That was much easier then getting the exhaust off.
I dont know how the hell you guys did it but I sure as hell am not ever going to remove the exhaust myself. I'd rather pay somebody.

I use liquid dish soap for the rubber hangers on the axle-back.
