View Full Version : Rear drum doing crazy bad noise!

I'm having a little problem here, my rear right drum is doing crazy noise. It's like if my exhaust was knocking on the car or something loose (metal to metal sound). Do you think I really broke my drum :P

It's happening when I'm driving, at the moment the wheel is moving the sound starts.

could be many things. describe the problem better. it could be your bearings, or drum brakes just need cleaning and adjusting. what is the mileage? when was the last time they were replaced?

open your drums up. it's more than likely that you just wore out the shoes. if you did just get new drums and shoes and slap those on there. easy job if you know what you're doing or shops will do it for around 300 or so unless you know someone

+1. Never hurt to open them up and take a look inside.

If you need new shoes, PM me, I have an OEM set I am selling for very cheap.

Last time my car was checked it was when I bought it in december, and the mechanic said that my drums was used at 40% and it will be a great idea to change them in spring.

So, I will checked for a wrecked gts and do a drum to disc conversion. I hope my drums would not explode by then lol

I live in Bois-des-filion at 15 min from montreal.

I think it will take a while before I can put my hands on a rear disc brake system. I called 10 junk yard....celica gts is quite rare and if a junk yard have one they don't have or don't sell the rear brake system...

check on this forum in parts for sale section..sometimes there salvage GTS on there and have a bunch of parts for sale....
