Only Dominic Toretto does :D

:werd:

Someone would only double clutch to slow down...but thats also what the brakes are for. FnF made it seem like it helped with racing...but they also made alot of other $h!t up as they went along.:chuckles:

1. Pull e-break.
2. Open your throttle so you are at 4k RPM.
3. Wait for the third yellow light and launch a millisecond after you see it.
4. Release you ebreak and your clutch at the same time while keeping your throttle about the same.
5. As you get more traction correspond with more throttle. You should be full throttle at about 15 mph.

now that seems like it'll take a lot of practice.

Perfect launches always do.....Then you can get into the nuances of staging.:)

is e-brake necessary at the light??

I don't even rev at the light...
I try releasing the clutch slowly while slaming the gas fastest I can.. I don't know it's just me..

Oh yea..
I just launch at 3rd light, 1 light before the green light. I get good reaction time that way..

double clutch is for braking, when u shift down you want to keep the rpms up so u double clutch

if your car is for some reason rolling at the starting line then u need to use the ebrake, i dunno if its just my celil or all but if your at the line and rev passed 6k the car starts to creep, so in that case i use the ebrake
just make sure u put it all the way down

Only if you want to add about 7/10's to your quarter mile time.

:wtf: Use the e-brake? What the hell kind of track you at? You will see three yellow lights in succession (1/2 second apart) followed by the green light. AS SOON as you see the third light, go...trust me you will green light. I can put down consistent R/T's in the 0.500-0.600 range that way (0.500 is a perfect light). I'd say the key to a good launch is clutch control. Hold the revs at 4000 rpm and when you launch, move the clutch right out to the engagement point. Youu will have to slip the clutch a bit to keep the revs high and not break the tires loose. At the same time you will need to feed in some more throttle to keep the revs up. Too little throttle and the revs will drop and you will bog the engine. Too much gas or a quick clutch drop and you will break the tires loose and spin like crazy. I run 28 psi cold in the front tires at the track.

It seems like track surface is more stickier than street road, so u need to get used to the track surface by one or two practice run..
I usually get the best time at 2nd or 3rd run..

Rev it up to around 4000-6000 rpm (depending on traction, and other such factors), then let the clutch out at a rate that allows the clutch to slightly slip, but doesn't allow the RPM's to drop too much. Once the clutch is all the way out the gas should be all the way down. Just practice as other's here have suggested, and you'll eventually get used to it. Don't be afraid to rev up the engine as all the power is at the top end of the RPM range.

Wont holding your clutch in 4k-6k rpm fry the clutch?!?! And how long do you guys usually hold it at there? and when do you start? I wanna hit the track near me soon. (thinking about taking on my buddy's RSX-S, think I can do it?) Hee hee hee. I was just wonderin, cuz I have never been but want to race (legally so no more trouble). Fill me in please!!!

burning the clutch a factor for any of you guys? Like getting the classic nasty smell of burnt clutch when you do this stuff?

This entire clutch slip process occurs over the span of probably a second or so.
