So far, I've only found the following products in my city to clean the interior (dash). If you had to pick from this list, which would you choose to clean the dash or a 7th gen. celica?

1. Meguiar's Extra Surface Cleaner
2. Mother's Preserves
3. Black Magic Dash Protectant Wipes
4. Simoniz Dri-Clean Wipes
5. Eagle One Protectant
6. Simoniz Dash Board Protectant Wipes
7. Meguiar's Natural Shine Dash Protectant

Is it BAD to use a 100% cotton towel slightly dampened with water to wipe the dash? Does that dry it out or anything?

Thanks!

If I had to choose from your list, or get shot in the head, I would pick the Mothers or Meguires.

I use nothing less than Vinylex on mine (by Lexol)

I got the Mother's Preserves today. Hope I can use it right away; do I have to wait at all before I do? Also, used Mother's Detailing Spray on some fingerprints around the door and it worked nicely.

I wonder how you guys deal with washing and waxing if you don't have a garage/driveway. I do have a garage and driveway but my water is way out in the back yard, I'd need a really long hose and there's a tree with branches that drape over the driveway. I can just imagine washing and in the middle of waxing, all this tree crap coming down.

If I take it to a coin-wash and use my own carwash soap, how do I wax it? I mean, I can't imagine that you can stay in the bay for that long. And if I just wash and dry it in there and then drive back out to the lot for waxing, it's in the sun. Maybe do it in the middle of the night?

If your tree sheds crap at that rate then I certainly hope you never park you car under it. It shouldn't take you that long to wash and wax the car. If you use Zaino you don't need to be in the shade anyway.

Why is it bad to wax a car in the sun? Should it be avoided at all costs or just not a great thing to do?

Don't know the chemical reasons but I know that all waxes I am familiar with say it is a no-no. I'm assuming it has something to do with the bonding of the wax to the surface.

I don't know if it's bad to wax in the sun for any particular reason, but I do know that the reflection will blind u like crazy... 10times worse than "snow blindness"

they say it hardens the wax too much, baking it on and making it really hard to get off. as long as its not like direct sunlight on a real hot day in the middle of the day you're fine.
