I know I already did a search but wonderin in the long which is the bettter and faster way to paint calipers? spraying would be fast but you have to tape and cover your car and stuff to protect from overspray so that would take long. Which is better from those who did it and how long did it take you if you're doing one wheel at a time? I got my paint, just waiting for a day off to do it.

I would say spray. You avoid the brush marks, and it doesn't make a difference if you get a little overspray on the rotors themselves. It comes off as soon as you run the car around the block. Hope this helps!

About the time, it took me about an hour per wheel, but I'm prolly a little slow doing it. I painted them after using naval jelly and a metal brush to make sure that all the rust was off.

don't you have to cover the whole car too? cause overspray travels everywhere!

1.) Take the calipers off
2.) Set it somewhere clean
3.) clean out the calipers
4.) paint them
5.) let it dry
6.) put it back
this way there is no brush mark, no need to cover parts of the car AND don't need to worry about overspray. :D

jesus christ. I just brushed mine, and they turned out beautiful. There were no brush marks at all. I just followed the guide on www.everythingcelica.com

That layout is cool. I'm gonna brush mine too. I think with enough coats brush marks won't be a problem.

1. don't spray...brush
2. unbolt the calipers and take out the pads, but do not disconnect the brake line, or you'll have to bleed the brakes.
check out www.por15.com excellent paint

if you take your car to a body shop you think they cant paint them and clear coat them like any other part?
i painted mine a while back but they have faded.
ive always loved the way porshe's brakes look. they look like the exterior paint of a car....
could i do this?

I was thinking about asking a shop that myself. If you do or get any info xould you post the cost? I'd be nice to never have to deal with- I saw a post that you have to re-coat them yearly?

go with paint from www.por15.com , i used "hardnose red". did it 2 years ago and when i hit them with the powerwasher, they still have that freshly painted/wet look.
