I have a cai, trd exhaust, and removed the butterfly valve in my 2000 gts. Thats the basics I guess, but I dont want to spend $$$ on turbo or kill my engine with NOS. What are some other mods that I can do to my Automatic to take up the lack in 0-60 that I lost with an auto trans, like the manual celicas dont have to worry about.

Gimme some ideas guys, I just want that xtra HP so I can kill RSX's, eclipses, and any other rice thats got less HP but beats my automaticc gts.

Later.

How do you have a CAI and still removed the butterfly valve? The butterfly valve is a part of the stock airbox. Get used to being embarassed in the straight line, first the Celica is the wrong car to have if you want to drag race and second, that auto tranny is gonna hurt you even more. I know people are going to say get a Level 10 torque converter, but even if you get this, it's still going to get beaten by a good driver in a stock 6 speed. My suggestion is to start doing suspension work and get that car handling like it's on rails.

Get a manual tranny!

I would also reccomend the level 10 torque converter and transmition upgrade.

Also, I would actually reccomend that you get NOS. It will not "kill" you engine like you think it will so long as it is properly tuned. A Celica running with a well tuned NOS system will outlast a Celica with a bolt on turbo system because with the turbo you are always boosting, and with the NOS you are only puting additional strain on your engine for a breif moment every now and then when you spray. So in that respect, NOS is actually safer than a turbo.

the easiest way is to drive to a dealership and trade it in for a 6 spd. a TC will help and you'll feel the difference but its not as good as a 6 spd unless you went FI. the only problem with the auto is falling out of lift when shifting. if they can find a way to stay in lift after shifting the auto with a TC would keep up with a 6 spd or be close to it. oh and NOS is good.

no offense, but it's a waste of time and money. Wasnt the best known time for an auto GTS something like 16.5 with mods?
