I have found that Japanese MR-S is going to get 6 speed manual and sequential this August. Engine power = 140hp. Also gets change in rear lamps.

Well the first five gears in my spyder are almost exactly like the celica GTS's and I'm getting 35 mpg. Another gear would put the spyder perhaps close to 40 mpg on the highway....damn.

Just wish they would make a MR car with 60 more hp and a hard top, like the last gen MR2s. I would buy it.

Yeah I've seen one red MR-S with a hard top and it was HOT! Everyone was digging it. It's actually about as fast as the old MR2 turbo stock... maybe even faster. 2200 lbs does wonders for a car's performance. I know it did for mine :)

Weird - I heard we're gonna get a 6speed MR2-S here in the states for 2003 but its gonna be another SMT and still hooked to the 1zz. I wonder if the guy was thinking of teh JDM car when he told me that. I hate the way the current SMT shifts so I hope hes wrong.
