ok i tried posting this question on the tranny section it wouldnt let me so dont get mad guys lol...well i went to this transmission shop to ask a question about my buddys car then it occured me to ask him bout the tranny fluid for my 00 celica, i usually used 75w 90 scince thats wat toyota told me to used but, i told him that and he said that, that oil was to thick to use sae 30? and im like wtf? thats motor oil? isnt it thicker? what do you guys think? is the 75w90 the right way to go for a stick tranny? thnxs guys

Yeah we use 75w90..that's what redline mt-90 is. I've heard of honda's using motor oil as a temporary thing, but I wouldn't use it in ours.

Our transmission uses 75w90 GEAR OIL/LUBRICANT, not MOTOR OIL. Trust Toyota Engineers or your "home-mechanic" friend????? It's your call.

lol no this guy works at "ammco" tranny rebuilt there supposed to b one of the best in california but i guess not haha thnxs guys

not just any 75w90 ..................... make sure what you used said gl-4, if its a gl-5 get it out as soon as you can
