caz---i'm not worried about the clock. small sacrafice for a screen...yeah i just bought that shift knob yesterday i like the way it looks but i'mnot a big fan of how high it sits. i'm gonna see if there is anything i can do about that

xi KiNG ix--i'm just gonna put a raw monitor in there. the company name in onron.....i just needed something to hook the ps2 up to

Mistrimeat-- its made out of fiberglass and soem fiberglass gel. i wouldn't mind making some to sell put it takes a long time to make these things(mostly sanding). plus i really don't have thetime right now. i just got my car a month ago and i need to focus on getting my stuff done right now. the next prject is the glove box and making my own installation kit.

thanks for the compliments guys

i will post more pics when its completed

Well, it's original. Honestly, I like the more flushed look, but, it's not bad.

Rippa, Did you make that or you buy it, please tell me i am intrested if you made it (might buy one).
And what would be the biggest monitor size i can put in there? I am guessing its about 4 or 5 'in tall (if wrong op'z, please tell me)

ok i'll try to explain how i did it the best i can. its really not that hard just takes some time

1st of all i took the screen pod that came with the screen which is the piece you see with the hole in it..

i then took the door that goes over the pocket in the center console and cut a hole in the middle of it so i could slide part of the screen pod into it(about 1.5-2 inches of the screen pod comes thru the back of the door) this i what gave me the foundation to build from

i then took an old t-shirt(has to be solid fabric...can't have any silk screen printing on it..you can also use a sheet)...i took the t-shirt and strecthed it over the plastic. covering everything except for the center(where the screen goes) i used hot glue to hold the t-shirt on the back side until i glassed it..make sure the t-shirt is wrapped tight so it forms right. then i mixed up some glass and use a paint brush to apply the glass. i only used i layer of glass. just to give me something to work from. after that dried overnight. i layered the whole thing in fiberglass jelly. i then started sanding and fillinguntil itwas smooth

once you have the outside smooth i started working on making it fit just right. this is the longest part of the project. all i do is sand test fit...sand and test fit and keep doing this until i have a perfect fit....after that i sprayed it in primer to check for any small pinholed i might have missed. filled in anywholes that needed to be filled. after this prep it so you can paint it

thats basically how i did it(there mightbe an easier wayto do it butit was my 1st time really glassing anything so i went with what i knew and this is what i came up with. once its really not that hard just takes time to get the perfect fit.

if there was anything i wasn't clear enough about i can try to explain it better. let me know if youhave any questions

MuleDoe: i am putting in a 5.6 inch screen. in my opinion i wouldn't go any bigger than that but if you wanted to i'm sure you could fit like a 7" screen there but i don't think it would look right. if you have anymore questions on how to do let me know and i will be more than happy to help you out. i will post pics of the finished product as soon as it is done. i am also working on my glove compartment and i will post pics of that as i work on it
