Its a panoramic .... it doesn't work the greatest ... you press the button and then pan the camera around ... the camera then moulds in into one long photo ... just a gimmick really.

The F707 had lots of manual settings that I rarely used ... this one seems more capable as far as its ability at auto adjust. I will start playing with the time lapse & so on in the coming weeks.

Its a great place to visit .. go off season though .. its a tourist trap in the summer. In the winter there are some great deals on those fallsview two-storey loft rooms with jacuzzi and fireplace. Winter is also the festival of lights & in my opinion, the falls are at their most beautiful in the January freeze.

Been to every US state except for two .. Colorado and Hawaii .... Colorado is on the short list and Hawaii I can't drive to. From Alaska to Texas; from the Florida Keys to Maine ... seen it all. Love to road trip. :wiggle:

The falls are always an awesome place to shoot. The hotel room shots were from the room my wife & I got married in. It was amazing .. after everyone left .. we were all alone & had just toasted to each other with champagne & the fireworks started ... memorable for sure.

No, in fact I didn't know what it was until you told me. We toured around the historic portion of Charleston taking pics of older houses & so forth & we stumbled upon it. Charleston is one awesome place.

Okay, here is my all-time favourite pic from the old F707 ... it was the culmination of a very long drive from Calgary Alberta up through North British Columbia and into Alaska. At the top of one very long, very rough dirt and rock mountain road ... was the Salmon Glacier .. a pefect view on a perfect day ..

So far I can say that there are definite advantages ... being able to compensate for over exposure on very bright sunny days is a big plus. But I obviously have a lot more to learn.

Some things I am not too sure about ... like choosing between a bigger aperture and a higher ISO setting .... not entirely sure what ISO does ... I think it relates to the sensitivity of the sensor? But yah, a lot of experimenting to do for sure.

ISO helps shooting in low light settings and gives you the opportunity to shoot faster shutter speeds, the only problem w/ high ISO settings creates a lot of noise in the pictures.

On those photos it was about ISO125 & yah, I shot one of stars on IS3200 and it had all kinds of noise in the photo. On ISO800 it seemed much clearer.

I would like to try some manual B&W photos.

3200 is pretty high !!! most dslr's don't even get good quality pictures w/ a setting like that. i suggest you just take the pictures in color and convert them into B&W on the computer.

No kidding .. I would like to see the mother of a lense that can zoom that.

OMG, what a horrible experience! Jesus ... hours on the bus sitting, hours and hours in two seperate huge lines at the space centre ... more hours on the bus waiting .. got on the bus at 8:45PM ... finally got to the viewing place at 3:30AM .. bloody near froze to death .... then it got scrubbed at 4:30 AM ... and didn't get back to the hotel until 8:00AM .... tour company offered $55 to do it again tomorrow night ... I think I'd rather stab myself in the neck.

I'll settle for the HD Imax version from the comfort of my couch next time.

Well, another summer has arrived and we are packing the car and heading east this time. Off to "The Rock" better known as Newfoundland; a massive wilderness island off the atlantic coast of Canada where there are more moose than people. LOL

No kidding, they are seriously deadly out there. I did everything you are not supposed to do - in order to catch our ferry (which was leaving at 12:30 AM and not 5:30 AM like we had planned), we were going 145 at night in the fog and rain for nearly 300KM. LOL ... but we caught our ferry. Next one wasn't until 5PM.

Work work work .. its been a grind as of late. I haven't been doing much photograhy at all.

The kid is growing and becoming more trouble every day. I was the last of 6 kids and according to my Mom, I was more trouble than the other 5 combined. She said "I hope some day you have one just like you" and I think I have. LMAO

There are so many great places to see out there! Fill the tank & put your troubles in the rearview mirror ... I'd recommend it to anyone. :wiggle:
