First you need a name, then you need an idea. If the name and idea go together well, a logical question will occur. Once that happens, an answer will emerge. If neither a name or idea come up, nothing has happened and thus nothing will happen.

If you want a 300whp GT you need new rods, pistons and a turbo kit.
Prepair to spend as much as you did on the car in modifications.

Forget what everyone said, sell your celica and buy an evo or sti. 1zz for 300whp Not worth the money, even after you put $$ into a 2zz still not worth the power gain. get a 240sx add a stock t25 from sr20 and you're faster than most of the celica's on the street. also GL w/ traction.

Unless you've got a big pile of money taking up too much space in your room, I wouldn't go for it

they are not that slow, just a weird set up for performance, being a FWD high compression engine doesnt help. If you want alot of power go turbo with internal mods and you will have a nice road beast. Like Smaay said 300FWD is nice, especially to a light car

the man didnt come here asking what cars/builds would make power.. there are many platforms to choose from, his is a GT.
get a turbokits.com kit, build the motor after if your not satisfied with the power
bolt ons and a 150 shot of nitrous.

ha ha id like to see a bolt on 1zz handle a 150 shot for any extended duration. you will still need pistons and rods at the very least. build the head and port and polish would be a good idea. and you better get a tune as well.

^ he never said how long he wanted it to run 300hp. It will most definatly get it there! :chuckles:

Too bad that wouldn't even get the car up to 300, maybe 250ish

With a GTS it would be done easier. There is someone on the board making about 516whp.

what does high compression have to do with it being difficult to go turbo ?

Who said that? Or are you just asking?
Higher compression cars aren't difficult to turbo, just more troublesome to tune and get good safe reliable power. Any Joe racer can slab a turbo onto a B series civic, it take a little bit more finesse to tune a stock 1zz and especially 2zz for turbo.

Forced Induction is really the only way
plus engine/tranny mods to support the extra HP
like everyone's already said though, it's gonna cost a lot of money

Assuming your mechanically savvy and can pull an engine rebuild it with beefier parts, tear down a tranny and install an LSD, do your own turbo install, wiring plumbing etc etc etc....
$3000 for the turbo kit
$1600 worth of upgrades (bigger turbo, bigger injectors, PFC)
$800 for clutch, light flywheel, poly motor mounts (might as well since you'll be in there)
$800 for LSD (if you want any hope of traction)
$2000 worth of supporting mods (return fuel setup, gauges, controllers, exhaust, plugs etc)
$1300 for stronger engine internals (rods, pistons, bearings and bolts)
Thow another $500 or so for a good dyno tune
And of course this is if you do all the labor yourself, add another couple thousand for a shop to do it all.
Getting a better idea?
