I blew a fuse a couple days ago on my car testing the voltage on my domelight (just to calculate the resistor I would need). And the power and ground touched and blew it. my parents say if I keep adding LEDs and such I will burn the wires and have to get the whole engine rewired. And it would cost me~2k. Is this true? Or is the worst happen be a fuse

At worst, you'll blow the LEDs. They're very sensitive to being overpowered. If you underpower them, they'll just be dimmer. Nothing to worry about, as long as you're not soldering directly onto the dome light wiring. BTW, what kind of LEDs are you using?

I have 2 led's in place where my dome light was, they've been there for over a year now and no problems.

LEDs use less current. Therefore, you are less likely to have a problem other than the ones you create when you short things out. ;)

Thanks, i got my fuse today. i was going to put 4x 5mm wide angle 20k MCD white babies in. but it looks like im going to have to put in around 16ish? I dont know how much 4 is going to put out. Ill try it tonight. Oh and the circuit is like. pos +- +- +- +- 1ohm ground. each +- is a led. And if the 16 work out...it would be like
pos +- +- +- +- 1ohm ground
pos +- +- +- +- 1ohm ground
pos +- +- +- +- 1ohm ground
pos +- +- +- +- 1ohm ground
