I have a honda prelude and a celica. For the honda the clutch is very light, you can drop into gear easily (like 1st to 2nd) with any light force. BUt then my celica is different. The clutch is hard, like when u drop fron 1st to 2nd it not as loose. Is this just my celica or is it on everyones celica?

how long have u had your celi and how long have u had the prelude.. it might be cuz the celica'c clutch is newer and less broken in.. and the preludes is older so it feels softer.. i dunno, mine doesnt feel hard.. my friends se-r actually felt harder than mine..

i think the preludes are known for soft clutches in general

1st gear was fine the first week of driving.. now it seems to give me hassle when im trying to downshift into 1st.. almost like it doesnt want to go in. but i always find a way cuz me and my baby are like that =)

down shifting to 1st?? why are u doing that? if your in second climbing somthing just give it a little more gas and realse the clutch slowly. just put it back to first if your at a compelet stop.

the gear box is stiffer then the hondas, do any body notice this?

i got the same problem, i got a act clutch put on it because i thought maybe it would fix teh problem but sometime it just seems like it doesn't want to go in

thats because first gear should mainly be used to just get the car rolling unless ure going like 7 mph or slower it will not want to go back into first... try revving it a bit and then putting it into first that works for me

Never downshift into first, as mentioned already 1st is just to get you moving from a dead stop. and clutches are different in all cars

yes toyota celica clutch is harder then civic's
