I brought it to the dealer twice for this now and the problem doesn't go away. Whenever I press the pedal any more than half-way then get off and try to press it again the pedal is rock hard. I put enough pressure to get it moving and the car jumps forward.
Any body have the sam problem? I tried the butterfly valve in the throttle body and its not that. It must be something with the throttle cable or cruise control. Any ideas??

Been there, done that. Still no solution.

I removed teh throttle body and cleaned it, but that dind't work. I'm suspecting a slightly tight tolerance between the throttle body bore and the flapper.

The easiest solution that I can think of is to back the throttle stop screw out just a hair. This will keep the throttle from shutting quite as far. It will also be a small air bleed, but if done properly, the ECU will be able to adjust easily.

Cool thanks. Let me try it. I was actually looking into replacing the entire throttle cable from the gas pedal all the way to the throttle body. First I'm going to try to lube it in all the places I can get to.

Thats a huge safety problem man the dealer should be all over that one. Mine sticks under the floor mat usually because the factory mat is a little too long and when clipped to the floor with the factory plastic clip it sits too far forward. have you disconnected the cable and tried to see how much resistance it has or if it has any tight spots during its travel?

Sometimes the butterfly in the throttle body will not sit perfectly straight because the screws come loose, and it will bind real tight while its moving above idle. Also it seems as though a lot of us have had to replace our engine mounts from driving hard- and if a mount is bad it can cause the cable to kink or jam up under acceleration or deceleration....

At this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks a lot I'm going to look into that about the bolts within the throttle body. I forgot to mention this:
When the car is off the problem is gone. I can floor it and let it go, whatever, its smooth as silk. You turn it on and back to square one. :werd:
