do i need those two lil pipes running from the top of the gas nozzle? they go to lil hoses that go into the gas tank and the angle of them doesnt look like they take gas in from the top. do i need these or not? if i dont ill just have a muffler shop re weld me a new pipe so i can put the nozzle where i want it in my trunk. if i do need them.. argggggg i have to rework what i am going to do..

I would assume they're there to vent gasses when you fill up, or a similar function.

When you fill up, the air in the tank needs a way to get out, or you'll end up with gas backing up on you. Why there's two of them I'm not sure, unless one is used in conjunction with the fuel pump, in which case it may be for fule overflow from the fuel pump. Either way, I'd suggest you keep them intact to at least some degree.
