i noticed just this week that my gts was idling weird, the rpm kept changing by 50-200 rpm every few seconds and that when gave it a little gas i could hear the engine missing. i dont think this is the same idling problem that everyone else is having because it is so repetitive and happens at speeds other than idle. Anyway i traced it to the #4 cylinder, what happened was the factory spark plug was defective, the ceramic insulator was loose and i could move it around and the center electrode moved with it meaning that the when the car was missing it wasnt getting enough spark or the jumping gap was the problem. I got a new plug and it fixed it. The firing end didnt have any harsh deposits or odd coloring so i just replaced the defective plug which fixed the problem. I just wanted to give a notice for those of you who may also have this problem that this may be the cause.
Note- i said this earlier but i really doubt this is the idle problem everyone is having with their idle jumping up and down at the stoplight. that problem is intermittent and doesnt follow a pattern or at other engine speeds but mine did.
