...well, i was on the road pulling outta a gas station. i redlined 1st just to feel lift, like always, then my oil light came on. after that, whenever i rev to over 5k, i hear this screeching sound coming from the engine bay. WTF, i have no idea what it could be, but just from the oil ligh, im thinkin that the oil pressure could have affected it. dunno... I HATE THIS DAMN CAR. i just hope they cant get me with warranty issues...i doubt it tho...any thoughts?

Get this to teh Dealer ASAP - sounds like a pretty serious lubrication problem.

did you mis-shift/get a rebuild?

I mis-shifted and the car went back 4 times after a "Rebuild"

1st replaced head...took 3weeks..Got the car back, same day, oil light came on...tore down head again..oil pump failed...1more week...got it back...car woulnt go into gear the day after that...took it back...clutch destroyed..replaced clutch/flywheel..a couple weeks went by and I started getting check engine lights and noticed oil consumption...broken ring landing on a piston...replaced entire block...

So after 4 trips and almost 2 months of drivin grandmas taurus, there's a new engine the car, which would have only been a week if they would have just replaced the engine(which means they would have seen the broken clutch, etc)

I understand that the miss-shift was a user error and that toyota didnt have to fix it, but if they are, then they need to do it right the first time...

Tell them to check the VVT-i oil strainer, as well

Nah this is pure warranty - they shouldn't give you any kind of sheet about it.

yea, it seems if they have done all your oil change's and other related work, then its mostlikely a problem for them.

*update*

well dealer called me asking for 600$ for tear down...no way! called up toyota corp. they told me theres a 12month parts/labor warranty on the work they did on the engine ( the 1st mis-shift ) so it should be covered. i did NOT mis shift again. tho i thought i did 2 months ago, but it was just the belt tensioner needing replacement. also got the 2002 tranny installed. but they still want money for tear down. i thought i over revved the car 2 months ago, but the dealer told me, no the engine is in good condition, lets just install the new tranny. im waiting for the customer relations rep to get back to me about the whole deal...after this , im seriously looking into selling or trading the car in...

oh btw, they said theres definate internal problems, and might need a new short block...im clueless when it comes to these things, what does short block mean?

Short block-block,crank,pistons,rings and bearings.Everything else gets swapped from the old one.Long block would also include the head

well, i talked to toyota corp. and they said they wont cover the damages. they're claiming the car was driven too hard...tho i ( honestly ) rarely drive it hard, it just happens that 1 time i redlined, the damn thing breaks...

i dunno what to do...

Sounds like they are trying to bully you. Take it to arbitration or lemon law it.
