i am installing an exedy stage 1 clutch on my gts and the alignment tool fits through the clutch disk and then when i stick it into the center of the flywheel it has play in it and it isnt a solid fit. are all the alignment tools like this and you just have to hold them straight or is mine not the right one for my car?

You probably have the wrong one. The correct one is supposed to be nice and thick, I'd say a solid inch, and barely fits through the hole. It's not a 100% solid fit, but more like 98%. It may have a TINY bit of play.

well it fits snug through the clutch but lets says its an 80% solid fit into the center of the flywheel

Mine was a nice and snug fit as well, but had a little bit of play. I just made very certain that I had it lined up exactly in the center before assembling it.

it has some play. just get it centered and then slowly torque the pressure plate down onto it to keep it centered.
