I was behind another Celica today and its third brake light was blinking whenever the breaks were on. Mine doesn't do that. Which ones blink?

I see you have a 2000 GT-S too. Mine doesn't do that. I wonder why it's on some but not all. I've noticed this on some other Toyota cars too. Anyone else have a blinking third brake light?

No, there are some cars coming out with this feature. I was talking to a buddy on friday whose bike does the same thing, but it only blinks twice. It's been known to get people's attention better to help prevent accidents. There's also a kind that will light up the middle and slowly move outward as you apply more pressure to the brake so people can try to guage how fast you are slowing down.

Only time I saw it was when I was in Atlanta (big Braves fan ;) ). It was a Grand Prix. The 3rd brake light was on the spoiler I believe and blinked a couple times, then stayed on. The other 2 brake light were solid the whole time, so it wasn't just the guy tapping the brakes.

Wouldn't be hard to put a relay in there to do that.

i was behind a jeep and it blinked, and kept blinking. but the wierd thing is i think it DID come from the dealer like that because it was an old guy..i doubt he really souped up cars, because if he did, he wouldn't get an ugly green new jeep.

WHatever it is, they should sell that mod. There are a few ricers around here that would love it and probably dip into their allowance money to have it!!!

There is a guy on the Club 3G board who prefabs circuit boards to make the Eclipse 3rd brake light go back and forth, like Knite Rider, and a switch to do it when your driving and solid when you brake or just move when you brake instead of a solid. I thought it was pretty fat and actually got one for my best friend who is getting an Eclipse.

It's not a mod. It comes stock with some cars. I just want to find out if there is a specofic model Celica that the blinking brake light comes with.

Dude, it is a Rice mod. I've seen them on all kinds of riced out 'tegs and Civics when I lived in Hawaii. They don't seem to be as common here, but they were all over the place in Hawaii. I'd say there was a 75% chance any car I saw with meat-ball tail lights had that ghey little blinking brake light.

It's not a safety thing either. I can see the brake light plenny fine, in fact, the blinking is quite distracting. Try driving behind some phag with one of those ghey lights on the highway during heavy traffic. Drives you crazy watching that stupid thing blink all the time. With me those things are right up there with washer nozzle lights and one wiper blade conversions on the rice-o-meter.

Yes, it can be a mod. But Korben007 is saying that his GT-S came like that. Hmmmmm, weird.

dodiet, maybe it's one of those area specific things, like how some people got a rear window wiper and some didn't.
