Okay so i finally desided today to try this mod..
first took the whole middle console out...
then located the YELLOW wire with GREEN stripe...
Clipped it then turned the car on to test... to descover the fuel light on and indicating that i had no fuel... ut oh! :AF:
so then i pulled out the soldering iron and soldered it togather again and wrapped it with electrical tape... turned the car back on and still no fuel!...
so i checked all fuses and pulled every single fuse and put them back.. and bingo it all works again...
so is there anyway i can still do this or is it a lost cause? please if anyone has anything please post

I believe there is more than one wire, you probably cut the wrong one. Read through the thread.

No I fallowed the "one cut wire trick" to a T..... And there were several other 02 GT-S owners that it worked for

heres what you did, there are two wires of the same color. One near the shifter and one behind the dash where the ac controls are. You cut the one near the shifter which is the fuel gauge and fuel door warning. The one behind where the ac plastics are in that big bundle of wiring is the one you need to cut.

Ah I see that makes sence... Thnx lots!
I'll try after work today... So not under the shifter in the big line of wires going bak toward the trunk? The one under the AC controls toward the engine bay

remove lower shifter console cover. Look over toward the passenger footwell fuse box area and move your hand all the way to the back and down. It's on the lower right yellow/green. There should only be one y/g anywhere on the right side of the brain there. You are definitely not working on the main harness that runs to the rear! The "brainbox" (as I call it) has like 15 or more connectors on it, it's beige colored. Wiring everywhere. Can't miss it!
Don't forget to plug the harness section back in, because that too will flash your fuel gauge like that. (you have to pull it loose to make enough room to do your cut)
I did the 2 wire -cloneGTS method and I often wonder if I would have been fine with just the 1 wire? I kinda wish someone would figure out what exactly is the variable between cars that deems necessary the 2nd wire for some? Wishful thinking :gap:

yes, there is. pull the two 10amp fuses in the smaller fuse box under the hood. you will lose control of your high beams, but if you have HIDs you shouldnt need high beams.
