noobies? I've been on this board since like Dec 2000. I used to have like 1800 real posts in my count till david updated NC.org and moved servers. I'm back up to about 900 and I dont post whore. I just didn't know that we had to do this WW thing sorry.

This is at a Toyota Dealership.... They had to fix 3rd gear syncro so I paid a little extra to install TRD JAP LSD, Clutch, PP, and flywheel. hehe only costing me about $200 instead of the full $1200 to remove and take apart the tranny.

Thats cool i just changed my flywheel and clutch myself and i can tell you one thing and that if you have not had experience with trannies this is not the one to learn on.

Yeah I can understand coz they had to yank the ECU, Battery and other sh!t...there is big hole on the right side of the engine bay.

If there are any of you out there who are going to try and do the trany yourself here is a little info. One thing that sucked was three of the four engine mounts were bolted to the trans so do support the engine before removing the mounts. One thing the service manual says is that you have to get an alignment because you have to remove the the sub frame, not true. it also says you have to disconnect the exhaust, PS gear assembly (which is why they say you need an allignment) that is crap to. The tranny is tight but it will come out and go back in with all that stuff untouched. One of the hard parts is the rear engine mount it sits over the PS gear assembly, with the stearing assembly and the subframe still bolted it is a little tricky but not that hard to move. Myself and a friend lifted the tranny out and back in by hand. But like I said before if you are not familiar with doing this type of job dont try it. Oh and the Fidanza flywheel amd ACT clutch is a great combination.

I just saw my tranny last night and it looked like a night mare to work on. there were pins, springs, gears, bolts, and other crap scattered all over the place. it blew my mind that the gears are only 1/4" thick.... I'll try to take pics tonight if it's still apart.

The way they look all scattered about, hard to think it is a working tranny. Looks way to complicated to work on by yourself

Poor Moonunit.. Hope he gets put back together soon. Senica is dying her hair? LOL.. She's not going to be silver anymore... :naughty: She's got a whole secret plan going on.. just wait til she is done!! :)
