How many other people on this forum get random ass people come up to them in public places and gives you a compliment on your Celica? I swear every single day I get a compliment from somewhere and I just have the basic TRD setup. I thinks its just people that don't know anything about performance cars and think our cars are the fastest thing on the road by looking at it but in reality there one of the slowest. lol at least we got looks going for us.

Yea, I have been wanting to drop it for along time. I took the wing off and the gap looks even worse cause the focus is more towards the bottom of the car when you look at it. All I have to do is drop it and tint it and then I'm done appaerence wise.

As im sitting in a restaurant and i can see my car, i always notice kids runing up close and looking at it and pullin on their parents shirts. Most ppl are nice, some are rude about it like they have 100% authority to take a pic or get up close and not even ask. Some even take a pic of the car when im inside talkin on the phone in a parking lot.

I get it ALL the time. A guy came up to me while I was parked asking me "wow how many horses is under this hood?!" Not that I mind it nor do I make fun of them because they arent well versed in cars. Not everyone is an automotive enthusiast and Im sure you guys arent enthusiast when it comes to other things which may make you seem like a "noob". Im always kind with it. I had people stop near me at a red light and ask me about the car like, what year is it, what make or model and one time a girl in a G35 pulled up and said she loved my car. All demographs, age and sex.

I once gotten the "wow is that a lamborgini?" compliment too. I see kids telling thier parents to look at my car and I get people and usually people with faster cars, say how girlie my car is and if Im going to sell it because thier GF wants this car and mine is in good condition.

I prefer the casual crowd to be honest. They like a car for what it is, the tuner crowd gets too judgemental and insult other cars just out of pride. This is coming from a guy that owned three supras.

I look down in his hood its a stock 1.8T Jetta with a CAI. I'm not sure what year, but it would be surprising that he would gain that much HP from just a CAI lmfao

But yeah, I wish I could use a drop here in Montreal. Although our crappy roads doesn't really allow me it. We got like ****load of potholes everywhere.

Wow those were some pretty funny posts. :D I remember when I got my '01 GT (4 months ago) my parents were like "now be careful, it's a really fast car." Then I told them our minivan has a lot more power, and they were like "well just look at it. It has to be fast." :D I wish.
And in a parking lot once, these two little kids were arguing about which transformer my car was. I just told them it wasn't in the movie. Another kid thought it was a Lambo. One of my friends who's 6' 8'' calls it "the midget car". *cough* jealous *cough*
And once I was leaving my neighborhood and I was driving with my windows down, and I heard this kid say to his friend "That junk look like it got some serious power". Being the good citizen I am, I wanted to make sure the next generation of car nuts follows in our footsteps, so I proceeded to brake torque my car from the stop sign and floor it down the road. It was a little on the weird side, but it happens a lot, modified Celica's are few and far between and turboed ones are damned near non-existent in my area.

Every day i've driven my car, Old women, young chicks ,young kids, guys, men have always given me props for my ride! But my fave question they always ask is..." what kind of car is that?". But i realised that sometimes looks count more than horses. Cuz people won't care so much about whats under the hood if a car doesn't look hot! only the race inspired. My dad was commenting everytime he sees one (he's noticed them after he was helping me on my car search during Christmas and I had fallen in love with the celica) that he notices it's always a women. Even said he saw one all modded out (he probably just saw the action package) and thought for sure that one would have a guy and it was a female driving it.

I'm sorry, but anyone who knows anything about cars (or just likes looking at them, you don't have to know mechanics, just hte different brands) would know that the Celica is totally not BMW style (Ok, BMW had one sloped hood car and it was pretty snazzy). BMW just seems to like much more conservative designs (and they cannot make a good looking rear end to save their life. My 325 had one of the better looking rear ends and it was just plain... like they designed the first half of the car and coudln't be bothered to worry about the rear so gave it a standard rear end.Shoot, look at an old 80's Nissan Sentra and you can easily mistake it for the 80's 325's rear end).

It does look kinda lamborghinish (which is probably why I think it is so gorgeous, Lamborghini are my ultimate dream cars). And it looks really good with lambo style doors (though I wouldn't do that to my car cause I'm sure it would cause all sorts of issues. I doubt an aftermarket kit like that could be done to fit the car well).

Only thing thats sad is that every other Celica owner I see on the street always try to like one-up me or do a fly-by or something.

I get a good laugh from the rice ones, especially this replica fiberglass veilside kitted Celica that painted "DUB" onto his wheels.

But most times, its frustrating cuz I would just want to talk to some other Celica enthusiasts around here, but they always have to run or mean mug..

I wouldn't say nothing like. No, it does not look like any particular lamborghini, but it does use similar style in its design basically (unlike BMW which does not use similar style). I'd even go so far as to say the similarities are enough that I'd say it's not just the wedge shape, it's enough similar style I'd say it's closer to Lamborghini than Ferrari (yes, i realize two different cars but they are both wedge shape or were back in the 80's at least and using it to show that it's not just the very overall shape of the car but some closer styling similarities)

And the 8 series was ok from the back (had to go look up pictures, could only remember it had a more sloped nose unlike most BMWs and wasn't the usual sedan type style). BMW every now and then makes an ok rear end, shoot, I like the 2000 something 3 series rear end (early 2000) though I have to say it looked a lot like the Civic of around that time rear end. Sorry, but in general BMW either makes boring/looks like some much cheaper car rear ends or butt ugly rear ends (I think it was the 7 series of a few years back that really had me gasping at how ugly it was from the rear).

I'm obviously not as in love with the 8 series as you though (I like it, and I really liked it when it was new though) as I don't know if I'd go as far as say perfect (you'll prolly hate me but I like the stock Celica with the action package better lookswise). But it is a pretty decent looking car (and very sporty for a BMW).

1. You have a Lamborghini tractor? Is it really old (or do they still make them or still made them relatively recently. I know Lamborghini made tractors before the cars but wasn't sure if he kept making them after getting into cars at all and if so for how long).

2. I heard it did cause a lot of issues. When I looked around for pictures of htem (before I was on this forum), at least one forum thread had some one inquiring about it (it may have even been this forum) and pretty much everyone said don't do it, they aren't done well and will have issues.

the funniest thing I saw/heard while driving my celi was "..hey it's a full size one LOOK!" and I look and these neighborhood kids have a remote controlled red celica with a carbon hood, black rims, and a TRD'esque wing on the back (same exact setup as mine back then). It's as if they looked up and for a brief second their toy was real life. lol.

not suprising.. i have an audi w/ the 1.8t. my guess is if it had an intake on it, it's got more than that. the first thing anyone w/ a 1.8t does is chip it. depending on the year and which tuner did it (apr, giac, revo), a simple 15 min and $500 will give you an extra 40hp and even more tq. give him a run... that will answer that question for ya..

I get stares and people pointing. I picked my sister up from highschool and a few guys were saying "ooo look how low to the ground it is!", I get "I bet its fast what's the fastest you've had it?". They ask where I got the body kit and red seats, what year is it? Just the other day am older guy in a 350z spyder followed me into Costco, parked beside me and asked a bunch of questions about it. People are really surprised when I tell them it's a toyota, an '02 and the body kit and seats came from the dealership as an option package. A girl driving a stock Celica GT with rims on it pulled up beside me at a red light and was looking at it and said I did a really nice job with it. People really do like the look of it.

Yep they still make tractors. I think they do about 40 mph, designed for the prairies where farmers need to get between their huge fields over large areas. I had a friend that has a large farm and he was joking about them one day, but then go all serious and said no but they really do make them, they're blue and white.

heh, I'm a bit of a Lamborghini fanatic :). Not that I'd ever be able to afford one. That's ok, as much as they are my dream cars, if I had a choice between a Porsche 911 (pre 1998) and a Lamborghini I'd probably still go with the Porsche (for more practical reasons and also just overall I think Porsche makes the better car. Maybe not faster or as exotic/awesome looking, but for actual driving and quality in general I think they make a better car).

it's funny cause after reading this topic I had a funny situation: I parked the car and there were to girls sitting near by, they saw me leaving the car, I went to the shop and was heading home so I had to pass near those too girls. at first they didn't see me going back and one was holding her cellphone, obviously making a picture of my celi, than she spotted me and quickly hidden the phone but I was so close I would have to be blind not to see it:gap: she looked so imbarased:o: I just smiled at her and went away but it's a nice feeling to have something that regular people are not used to see and that draws their attention. It's all good as long as those are positive reactions.

One thing I gotta say is that body kits look 10x better on celicas than most cars. Because of the liberal designing of the car even lip kits look nice. I just hate that there are so many in silver. It's becoming a bitch to find a white GT-S for the mrs.

I like the lines on the 1999 Si. Very nice. Lip kit, drop, and clean rims and call it a day for appearance. :drool:

I like that factory option lip kit for your year Civic. My parents drive an '06 Si, and I like the way that lip kit flow. It is perfect for them, it sets the car off from 1,000's of others but is not overtop. Now if I could just get them to do some real mods to it. :gap:

I know but to me the civic looks best with a mostly stock appearance. Most body kits on the market just don't go well with the body lines imo. The RSX Type S is good for body kits too. I almost went with the Type S but I saw the new civic coming out was gonna have a K20 and didn't cost as much as the type s so I went with it. Glad I did to :P.

But still celica body lines just seem to cry out for a body kit.

Im glad im not the only one. I don't know what it is but I get dumb broads tail gaiting me all the time, then i get pissed hit lift change lanes and get stopped at a red light and bitch is back on my ass again. But what I hate more than that is mustang gt owners, or corvette owners, trying to race. I got tinit too bad can't c my middle finger ahah.

yeah I used to get a lot more people saying nice car and such...anymore its usually little kids that say it when I'm in a parking lot or something....but funny enough..I have had instances where I would be driving down a residential street going like 20 or 25mph and have older people yelling at me to slow down...I assume cuz it "looks" like it is going fast lol. Reminds me of the old celica commercials...

I always have people that don't know about cars saying it looks like an eclipse...which I always thought funny because I would assume that people would mistake the cougar for the celica. Then I always have people in mustangs or even other imports want to race me...which I used to do from time to time...but anymore I'm just like "eh..you may or may not beat me..but lets take it on a road course and then see what happens lol"
