i need to know if its ok to hook them up to the cig LIGHT. not the cig lighter, but that light that's connected to it. i want my lights to turn on when i turn my lights on. now i have it on my cig lighter, but i wanna switch it because i just leave it on all day. also, if this is bad, what fuse should i use if fuses are better and which fuse and HOW to connect it to the fuse. thanks a lot ahead of time if you help!

um i did it and it works fine. i just used a razor to cut a piece of the wire off and wrapped it around it and heat shrink tubed it. i didn't use a fuse but i'm sure you'd need a real small one. you'd want the fuse to be as close to where you tie in as possible as the part between the tie in and the fuse is unprotected wire. you can use an inline fuse holder, like the one aftermarket head units often use.

you can just use the appropriate gauge wiretaps from radioshack.

i want to hook up my guages so that when I turn on my lights via the light knob thingy, the guages go on. carlos had it done to his car but a frined put them in. I just want to know the wire color to hook up the + an -. I do'nt feel like striping wires to find the right one. It should definatly be in one of the tech book. if anyone figures it out please email me lxj7105@njit.edu
thanks
