View Full Version : Secret radio trick for GT stereo

read this off of another celica website: to add a midrange adjustment to stock GT radios, have the radio on, hold the tune button down for 10 seconds or so until you hear a beep...then you will now have a midrange adjust, just like the upgraded factory radio.

However, fyi, i have not found a way to get rid of the midrange adjust feature after it is activated...if anyone knows how to get rid of it, let us know.

just found out how to reset the midrange adjustment after you activated it: simply turn off your car. when you restart, stereo is back to non-midrange adjustable.

yeah, good question....don't even know why its there unless one wants to tweak the midrange for a particular song maybe?

well does the control go away, and keep what you adjusted, or does it go back to original settings. i don't have a factory radio anymore so i don't really care, but i figured the setting would stay.

after u turn off the car and restart, the stereo goes back to factory settings regarding the midrange adjust- as if the adjust feature never came up at all. so it does not keep what u adjusted.

I dont see the point of adjusting the mid range controls when you dont have mid range speakers...

well whats the point of having an equalizer then. thats what it is. it would be helpful, too bad it doesn't stay set.

yep, i'm with ya on that...its just like having an equilizer...even without the midrange speakers on the gt, the midrange adjust still has an effect on sound.
