A long time ago i installed a wing and had to drill and put bolts in from the inside. well the bolts would fall in the hole and roll all the way into the rear door. on the passenger side it kept happening but i was able to get them out every time so it was bo big deal, on the drivers side when it happened they couldn't be gotten back out. so now its rattling all the time, i have two bolts back in there somewhere and i'll do whatever it takes to get em out. its horrible. what can i do? if i have to take the door completely off so i can move it around and try to turn it and shake them loose then i will. how do i do that? please help

I did something similiar. I dropped a rear license plate bulb fixture into the deck lid. Luckily my car was going to the body shop and I just had them remove the rear hatch and get it out. They tacked on an additional $40 to the bill, but at least if they busted it, I'd get it replaced. You might want to call a local body shop to see if they'll do that. That way if they bust something, they're responsible instead of you trying to do it, busting something and then you're s.o.l.

Where did they roll to? Is there anyway ou could get a magnet near them. If they stick you may be able to pull them out.

i can't find the damn bolts. i was screwing them into the wing from the inside, and on the passenger side, they'd fall off and into the metal on the side of the wing. it was real easy to get them out though, because there were plenty of holes on the bottom of the lid and less wires. on the drivers side there are less holes and they all have wires. i can't find the bolts at all or tell where they even are. a magnet shouldn't work because they're probably in there in a small little crack and the magnet would stick to the metal of the car and be pretty hard to move.
has anyone else had vibrations coming from their lid when driving once and a while because it seems like the wires that are in there rattle too. so maybe its not even the bolt. but i doubt it because it never did it before the bolt. oh well. it really really sucks.

I work in a body shop and just finished working on a member's Celica & let me tell you, you don't want to remove the liftgate!! It's a fricken nightmare. A magnet will work if you use the right type. Go to a tool supplier (Snap-on, Mac Tools, Matco, etc.) and they'll sell you a magnetic pick-up tool. It's made for picking up dropped nuts, bolts, washers... Then go park on a steep uphill grade and slam the liftgate closed a few times to make sure the lost bolt is in the very back and not up the sides or by the 3rd brake light. You should also be able to locate which side it's on by the rattling sound it makes when you slam it. Then, use the tool to pick it out!
Or easier yet!... just go to a local body shop with your interior trim panel already off the liftgate, and ask if one of the body men could use their magnetic tool (almost every body man has one)to get it out for you. It will take only a minute and slip him $10 bucks or so. You'll be rid of that nagging rattle and he'll be happy for the $10 or so he made for a minutes work!

well if it was as easy as using the tool they'd be out by now. i can't find the bolts. they're really in there good. i want to just take the whole door off and slam it into the ground it pisses me off so much. it rattles on and off all the time. the back part of the door the inside and outside metal are real close together and there's not a lot of holes to get into it to get them out.
