Hi, I just had to slap the dealer down. They were doing my oil change and I told them do not forget to secure all the clips that hold the plastic under the engine oil pan. They did my oil change and when I looked under my car they left off a couple of the clips and the plastic was hanging down. I told the mechanic he was a piece of sh*t and then I told the Service Manager they tried f*ck me and he tried to cover their as$. I told him get the NEW clips on my ride NOW! As i was waiting another Celica drove in dragging the Engine Plastic and I said that's it!

I called TOYOTA @800 331-4331 and the girl said she never heard of this problem, I told her Bull$hit, everytime I get my oil changed I have this problem and so must every other owner who doesn't change the oil themselves.

If you have had this problem please call Toyota at 800-331-4331 and tell them how much those cheap plastic clips $uck. Lexus did a recall on the same design, but unless we harass Toyota, they are not going to address the problem. Sick 'em!

This happened to me, also. And, yes, those clips are pretty expensive. They cost like $8 each, or something like that. I'd actually have to find the invoice to get you the exact number. (Note: it was my fault that I lost them, so I decided to pay for new ones)

From what i understand, the engine plastics are only to keep dust and dirt off the bottom of the engine. Since I live in AZ, dust is just a way of life, so there is no benefit. The last time I had Toyota change the oil, they left off a couple of clips again, and my plastic started to hang off. I just took them off all the way and haven't bothered having someone else change my oil since.

If you don't like the way it looks, just take them off, there is no harm done.

yeah well maybe they do it on purpose so they can charge 230 dollars to replace them. I HATE dealerships. why can't they just do stuff right???? it just makes no sense.
