Another Z28 vs. ITR

I was on my way back home tonight on the tollway when I came up behind a black Z28. Not sure what year it was, but it had square exhaust tips and no amber lights in the rear. Probably an earlier model. Anyway he starts speeding up and I'm just pacing him about 5 or 6 lengths behind and to his left. I guess he thought I was a cop or something (not sure what cops have HID's) so he slowed down a little below the speed limit. So I just cruise past him at about 70mph. He then starts pacing me... Me in the middle lane, him in the slow lane. No traffic around at all -- a single-turbo Supras dream. But I'm no Supra and neither is this Z28. I drop it into 4th gear, just below VTEC and goose the throttle a few times to see if the Z28 wants to go. I'm steadily increasing my speed while hanging in 4th. Don't wanna start a race while I'm not on the big cam. After a few seconds my RPM's reach 6K and I'm ready to go. A few more blips of the throttle and it's on. He jumps first, but he was about a half a car behind to start -- his nose at my passenger side door. I jump as soon as I can react and immediately steal his thunder. He's not pulling... I'm not gaining. RPM's start to approach redline and I'm putting some distance between us now. 4th gear is a long gear so there's room enough for me to increase my half-car head start to a full car lead by the time the 5th gear upshift comes. 5th gear drops into place smooth as silk and I continue to put another car on him as we're approaching 120mph. Ok it's getting a little crazy at that point so I shut down and he flies by. GG Z28. Didn't think he'd keep up that good. Was probably a 6-speed or something. Looked stock. Whoa, this was all one paragraph!

you've got an integra with an intake and a RX7 with no engine mods? Do you know how funny it will look lining up with my camming LS1? :D

judging from Cheezerfrog's kill stories, it's apparent to me that his integra doesn't only have an intake.

No offense intended, but my car has almost 400 horse at the wheels (hopefully just over 400 now, thanks to a little tweaking). He'll need a jet engine! :D ;)

Have you ever had the R at HRP? I was wondering what you ran. I could see you keeping up with a LT1 Z28. I beat a friend of mine his 94 6-speed one time. The LS1s are a no go though.
