Yes the thread isnt wrong. I just got pulled over for having a stock exhaust. I was returning home and I was at a light, it was almost midnight and the roads are DEAD so when it turns green I shift at 4k rpm instead of the usual 3k and up ahead was a police checkpoint.
I didnt worry, I wasnt speeding or anything, and hell I even had my seatbelt on. My records and insurance is clean so I get pulled over and the cops ask for my license registration blah blah. I give it to them and they tell me to pull over and they will be right with me. So I was like ok?
So I pull over waiting for them to return my information and I waited for around 20 minutes. I was getting frustrated because I seen them wave past every single car after me, even a harley davision bike. So Im asking myself what did I do? Did I do something wrong? I couldnt have. So I get out my car and walk back and forth getting inpatient and the cop comes back and while he was walking to me I asked if there was a problem and he said yes, your engine exhaust.
I replied, what about my engine exhaust? He said its been modified. I said no, its not! So I said let me rev it for you and he said ok rev it and I did and he said "*******s, not your fault its thiers".
At least he admited guilt but what the ****. When I hit 4k, my "engine" if you consider a 4 cylinder an ENGINE worth making NOISE! Makes a revving sound, its normal! I felt profiled because of the celica. This is the main reason why if I get an exhaust it HAS to be TRD or stock. I need that certificate, cops are just horny picking on tuners here.
