BODY WERKS

Hey all,
I am posting here because there are a few things that need to be cleared up and a couple of things I need to say.
1- The issue of Body Werks entering shows as a team.
Answer: I am the owner of Body Werks, and I am the owner of the yellow S2000. I do not enter the cars as a team. The whole thing started when a few of my customers who do not belong to any team, started the idea of starting their own team called "team Body Werks" This was not my idea, nor my plan. This issue has been put to rest and I have personally disolved any idea of a "team Body Werks". In the past few shows their was no team entry, and I assure you it will not happen in the future eighther. This is not because of people bad mouthing us, it is strictly because we are a business, and the reason I bring 10-20 of my customers cars to shows, is to promote the different custom work we do. I do not bring that many cars to the shows, to showoff or to say I am better than the other guy. My theory is to beable to show the public what we do and how good we are at it. My sincere apologies for any confusion and anger it has caused anyone. I will continue to bring a lot of cars to future shows, in hopes of bringing new and more work to my shop. My props to all of the real Chicago car crews (the ones that come to our shop and even the ones that don't) You guys have raised the par in the Import scene in this area, and I truly mean this, to all the teams congrats and continue the good work.
2- Why do I enter My S2000 in show competition?
Answer: 1st off, because I have the right to. Also, you have to remember one thing I own a body shop, and thats it. Not a performance shop, not a stereo shop, just a body shop. If you look at my car, the most simple part of my car is the body. It does not have a crazy paint schem or a killer widebody. It is just a stock S2000 with a nice paint job and a nice body kit and wing. Most of my modifications are in the motor, stereo, and interior. All of these are items that I don't do at my shop. Yes my car was bought after it had been totaled, and yes my shop including me, built this car back to what you see now, but you forget that I have to pay the salaries of everyone who worked on my car. So, no it wasn't free. Yes, I have a few sponsors that have helped me with the car, but isn't that the point to try to find sponsors so you don't have to absorb all of those heafty costs yourself. Any one who knows me will back me up on the fact, that I put my time, heart, and soul in to my S2000, and yes I take great pride in the car. I have been building it for 3 years know, and I am very happy with the way it is coming along.
3- The myth that we take too long, we are too expensive, and that everything will get stolen form your car while it is my shop.
Answer: Yes its true, sometimes we run into unforseen circumstances which unfortunately slow down our production time. If I could get the car out faster I would. There is one very important factor, I will not deliver a car back to a customer untill I think it is perfect. Even If I have to redo it myself. We do not hold customers cars here if we don't have to, and I really do try my best to make sure every car is delivered back to the customer when I promise it will be. As to being expensive. I have always tried to give customers the best price I can. We use great products and a very high line paint system, this does raise the price a little more. Yes their are shops that are cheaper than me and yes their are shops that are more expensive than me. Regardless I strive in giving my customers the best work I can and more important, I stand behind the work and I am always there for my customers. Yes a while back we had a big vandalism problem. We had a group of guys vandalizing and stealing parts from cars for months. This has ended, The kids were caught, arrested, and prosecuted. I have personally paid for all damages that were done to my customer cars, and to ensure that this never happens again, I have installed 24 security cameras, I have two guard dogs, and a 24 hour patrol service. So I can assure you that if your car is at our shop, nothing will happen to it.
4- Car show clasification
Answer: If their is a shop class, then my car is entered in a shop class. If their is no shop class, then I enter the respected class for my car. I also do not tell my customers which class to enter their cars in, it is their cars and they decide on which class to enter. HIN has designated my car to be mild, Lat year it was entered in mild and took 4th place, yes this year it took 1st. If HIN had a shop class, I would enter it that way.
This is more of a personal note, not many of you will care, but atleast this way you will know more about me.
As you know my name is Larry Chachko, and yes I am the owner of Body Werks. I am 24 years old. I opened this shop a month after my 20th birthday. No, I don't have rich parents and no I don't have tons of money. I opened this shop because of my passion for cars, and for customizing them. In fact my father past away a month before my 21st birthday, and I was left with many hospital bills to pay as well as a family to care and pay for. When I started this shop I had nothing, no office, no pavement, no sign, no equiptment. I grew from nothing. I will be honest and tell you straight up that I screwed up in the begining, making some enemies in the process, but all of that has been fixed period. In the short 4 years that I have been doing this, I have been working my ass off everyday for it. I love what I do and I wouldn't give it up for anything. I get up every morning and I can't wait to get to work. I will continue to strive and make sure that my customers are always happy with me and my work. Yes we all make mistakes, and if we didn't, we wouldn't be human. I promise you I am here to stay, and I will always be here to take care of my customers needs.
I my sincerest apologies to anyone i have disappointed or angered in the past. I give you my word that these things will not happen in the future. Unfortunetly sometimes that young cokiness got in the way, but like anyone I have matured and learned my many lessons in life.
To all my past and existing customers, I truly thank you for your business, your loyalty, and your integrity.
To all my future customers, If my shop can ever be of service to you, please feel free to call me directly. I will be more than happy to take care of your needs.
Im sorry that this post is so long, but I had to speak my mind.
Sincerely,
Larry Chachko
