Driving to work this morning i get pulled over for window tint. I have had my windows tinted for aver a year now and this a**hole think he is better then anyone and fines me 95.00 a window. My windows aren't even that dark!!! I only have 35%. Thought that i would warn everyone in PA that the laws states no more then 70% on any window!!!!!!

35 % is more tint than 70 % ? what is the % actually a measure of? Is it a measure of how much light it lets through?

why does your sig say 20%? :wtf:

Did he use anything to measure the tint?

I doubt anyone will be around these areas, but watch Houtzdale, Pa, and Northumberland...those two towns have the WORST cops in the entire state, they'll nail you for an air freshener on your rear-view when you've done nothing wrong.

My sig says 20% because when i went to the shop that is what i ordered. Now when the cop pulled me over yesterday it measured roughly 35%. Yes they have alittle laser type box theat they place on both side of the window and it measures the tint digitally now.

WHoaaaa Tonto.....

From what I have found, PA law (which isn't even a law, it's more like every locality is allowed their own interpretation of the mandate) states that you're allowed tint rated at 35% or higher (I believe that is, it allows 35% or greater of the light through). When you go to a tint shop you spec the light transmission amount. I had mine done at Auto Addictions in Allentown (who are great by the way) and they listed the %'s they use to choose from and showed me where the "legal" limit for PA started. Mine is right on the limit.

You might want to check into that alittle futher now, SCteckel. If you have a fax number i can send you the paper that states the law in PA. I was like you and thought that you could do whatever you wanted on the back three and the fronts need to be transparent, but i am finding out that is false. I am taking my ticket to court to get the real answer so i will let you know, but if you want me to fax that paper to you i will.
