I'll bet that pioneer sub is hurting inside such a small bandpass front box.

its not that bad. the looks are the only thing i'd say need help. that pioneer sub is said by many to be one of the best cheap subs around. its a decent sub. i don't know how well a bandpass is but i guess with one sub it helps. decent amp too. i'd say spend a few hundred and get a box custom done to make it flush. probably ported since you only have one sub if you want bass, sealed if you want sq.

hey even better, put that sub all the way on one side and then get some wood and skirt it to flush into the side. then carpet it. or have a shop do that. that'd be real nice. left side with ports towards the middle.

Your going to have to get a new rear window because your going to shatter the stock window in there now...

Its not bad for a budget system.

And what's going to make the window break? As an audio installer, I can assure you that your back window is fine.

How is that ghetto? It's more tward simple then ghetto...

That would sound better in a sealed box...You have a hatch back, so there's no nead for a ported box

Your box is fine, that sub is recommended to be used in a ported box. And why would having a hatch matter with a ported box or not.

My subs are in a ported box as well because that's the only way they'll work right. Plus I hit 166.2 db :D

it depends what you want. sealed is a little more sq, and ported is more spl. i would like to know what the hell you have to hit 166.2, thats a little high. that bandpass box, however, will bring more bass boost right in the middle. it kills the midbass, which may be bad if you're just adding on to stock speakers. it will also SEVERELY decrease the efficiency of the sub, as in, you could get a lot more out of it if you used a ported or sealed box. being that you have a hatch, a sealed or ported would be better since you can get more midbass rolloff w/o losing it like you would in a trunk anyway. i've used those subs before and i can tell you they SLAM in a big sealed box with a real low 60hz range crossover, 12db/octave slope, and 200 rms watts each.

What I have is 3 Audiobahn AWT10X's which put out 2000 watts each and each are powered by an Audiobahn A2300HCQ which puts out 1200 watts at stereo and 2400 mono.

And it doesn't sound like you know much about what a box can do for a sub, cause have you ever seen sound competitors winning with a bandpass box? NO, because everyone uses sealed or ported.

Oh, and 1 amp and 1 sub are for sale if anyone wants.

dude thats quite a bit, i believe you now.

as for me not knowing blah blah whatever that was, maybe you need to read my post again. i said that a bandpass is very inefficient, and that sealed or ported will hit harder. and that usually sealed is what you want for sq and ported for spl. of course spl is definately doable with sealed too.
