Just got my celi!

hey guys, im new here and have been looking for a celica online community for quite a while and finally found one :p i just got a red 01 celica gt-s and absoloutely love it. its my second car and i love driving it. im looking foward to moding it and making it my own. "its stick btw" i was wondering though what is the best way to pull, if your racing starting out with a 40-60 roll. 5th to 3rd drop? i was always confused by six speeds. thanks!

Haha so true. When I was 16 and invincible I did some pretty stupid things that I never got in trouble for on back roads. My racing came to a halt when me and a crazy friend decided to race my raging Celica with a TRD exhaust vs his 01 Maxima V6 auto, which was his parents.

Needless to say it was dead even until about 100 then from 100 to about 115 I lost :(

Stupid to go that fast and I really never let it down.

Your friends are stupid and willful recklessness in Nebraska carries a maximum of 2500 and 90 days in jail. Not saying you will get the max if you get caught racing but lawyer fees and insurance increases will cost you about 1-2 thousand easily.

Lower it if you plan on using it to do SCCA events. In my opinion modding a Celica is like trying to play Crysis on an old Dell laptop. I swear I have heard this somewhere before...Dasher?

VVTI I tried to understand your post, but I only understand correct english.

I was quoting Dasher's signature and I am sure Marc can back me up on this as he has said many times no Celica has broken 200 WHP without forced induction and probably spent about 2,000 on bolt ons trying to get to that mark.

My point was the Celica is a pretty decent car to do autocrossing with as the Celica GT falls in the G Stock class and I believe that with basic mods you will not get kicked out of the G Stock class.

where is your shop located?

My shop's on rt 10E in Whippany.

You'll dump buttloads of money into performance mods and it will get you nowhere.. trust me :marky: haha. You'll get the best bang for your buck by going with suspension mods. all of the "bolt-on's" will net you ~ 8whp total if your lucky (I/E/H)

stick with the Hotchkis TVS kit and a good set of shocks and you'll be more than happy with the way your car feels, trust me :gap:
