So does this have really bad output? is 30 watts bad? doesn't the stock give out more than that? anyways..if i do get this deck, because i love the way it looks...should i get an amp to boost the sound? i'm stereo handicapped, so i'm not sure if this is a good deck or not. i want the deck if its around stock output, but if not, i'm willing to hook up an amp and/or get new speakers. any kind of help will be helpful. thanks ahead of time.

jensen is cheap stuff. and 30 watts peak is pretty low. most stuff nowadays runs 50 watts peak and over 20 rms. i'd say you can do much much better. i wouldn't think the quality would be much better than stock and reliability would be worse.
as far as features listed there aren't many, its very basic. uh, 1 preamp output, so if you want to run amps you can run one, if you run more you won't be able to fade it'll all be running off the one set. 86 db signal to noise ratio seems a little low.
anyways i'd look at some of the kenwoods, pioneers assuming you're looking in the 200$ price range. i would never buy jensen but maybe thats just me.

You definitley have to pass on the Jensen. You might as well save your money up and get something that will last you. J3adseed is right. You will end up replacing it in less than 6 months. Jensen is crap.

Pass on the Jensen. If you are considering on adding an amp, then it would be better to get just a preamp deck. There are a lot og really good decks out there and the kind you get depends on the money you're willing to spend. Alpine and Eclipse are good brands, as are Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion and Sony. I have used all of these with the exception of Calrion and all worked pretty well. Sound quality also depends on price although I think Alpine decks sound cleaner overall. I am currently running a Sony CDX-MP70 deck in my GTS and it sounds pretty good. I would say this though, if you are investing on a quality deck, you might as well get some good speakers and amp(s) as well. Only then will you really be able to appreciate the quality of the sound. Good luck.

and personally, i don't see why you'd have a jensen "for looks." first, its a jensen so most people are going to think its crap anyway, and second, i still don't think it looks good at all.

Go with alpine or Eclipse, They look far batter and have much higher quality. May cost you a bit more but save up a little more it is worth it.

Pioneer, Alpine, or Eclipse. I mean it's all about sound quality.

you guys, he just wants it because the display is red.
Can any of you think of a deck that has red lighting and is actually good? Kenwood makes some decks that have morphing color, so you could set it to the shade of red that you like.

if your looking for red, you might be better off with the sony xplode series, but I dont have any personal experience with them

sony xplods aren't all that great, but i'd take them HANDS DOWN over jensen, even if the jensen was free. i'm also thinkin about wall mart... because they have some pioneer stuff thats different color. pioneer is an ok brand, but i remember one time i was at wall mart and i thought for sure i saw some pioneer head units w/ red lighting instead of their normal green. i think they're like specially made for wal mart. weird.

ya...price is NOT an issue....i'm in for the looks. if it's red..i'll take it. Hmm...i'm not a big SONY fan. some of the stuff is ugly....like the mp3 deck is UGLY. the text is yucky.
Thanks for the response though...i think i will pass on the jensen.
