i have 3 way boston pro's and i need either kick panels or door pods or something. has anyone installed 3 ways in their car? i need to see some pics! do you guys think i could install the 4" on a bracket in front of the 6 since the gts system has something like that?

sh!t man, i'd imagine you'd have to get that customized by the shop cuz i doubt there are kick panel kits or pods for our cars...atleast none that i know of...

Unless you learn to work fiberglass.....

Check it out, I was talkin with this guy when I owned a Nissan NX1600... back in the day....
But his 200SX is sweet... with custom kick panels.

i know they'd have to be custom. i was wondering if anyone else has had them done on their car and if they have some pics. i'm worried about losing too much space. i want these as stealth as possible.

what do you guys think, kick panels, or doing door pods under the 6 where its flat, making that come out?

the other option is putting the 4" where the tweeter is, its so close to fitting... then putting the tweeter in the A piller.

Putting a tweeter in the a-pillar is a bad idea.... if you are going for SQ the best place to put the speakers is down near the kick panels... that way the speakers are as clost to being an equal distance away from you as possible. If you mount a tweet on the a pillar, the left one will be about a foot and a half from your ear, while the right one will be about 3-4 feet away... thats tweeible for imaging and overall sound quality. Best idea.... have a 2 way component system mounted around the kick panel area.

yeah but its still better than the factory tweeter location. and actually, if you angle them so the close one is pointing directly to the other side of the car, then that helps. since the one close to you is off axis and thereby softer and the farther one is on axis and sounds closer. but besides all that i have time delay which works wonders. but even with all that i know kicks are better for imaging, but i don't want to pay 500 bucks for kicks if i can help it.

true dat.... well, like I said, be creative and make some kick panels.... it would be sweet if you could pull it off.
You could make a box for a 6.5 inch woofer that wouldnt have to be too big.

i plan on making kick pods in my car. i am going to be running image dynamic componets with image dynamic horns(sounds funny but they kick ass).

if you want kick pods and don't want to make them try getting a hold of a crutchfield magazine. there is a company called q-forms. they make kick pods to replace our factory kick pods

dude, image dynamics are very good speakers, i almost got those. as for q-forms, since when do they make kick panels for our cars???

i doubt it.... they only make kick pods for civics and tucks... the bastards.

What is the real advantage of using the kick pods over the doors. I never really saw the point. Just a Question.

I personally think the footwell is to small for kickers.

yeah i think the footwell is a little too small for kicks too. as for whats the purpose of kick pods, well, the door holds a 6, but i need a 6 and a 4 so the pod would hold on of those and the door would hold the other. i think i'll just try to make kickpanels myself and see how it all works out. and q-forms doesn't make **** for the celica.

i'm thinking if i can do these kicks w/o a problem, i'll put an 8" sub up front in the passenger footwell too. that'd be nice bass up front.

There is plenty of room, i know from experience.

yeah there is plenty of room for kick panels.......i don't know if q-forms makes them for our cars or not. just something to look into. but there is more than enough room for kick pods in our cars

J3adSeed--why didn't you get the image dynamics???

well if i had bought two ways, i would have gotten the ID chameleons. but i got a real good price buying the 3 way boston pro's off someone so i took em. i've heard the IDs are harder to image and if they're going in stock locations i figured maybe doing 3 way boston pro's in kick panels would end up better.

what do you guys think about doing 2 12w3s crossed over at like 55hz, then running a 8w0 in the passenger footwell way up in there and hidden. i figure i'd cross it over at like 100 hz or so.

My only question to that idea is if/How you are going to take the extreme lows (ie <55hz) out of the 8". If you are going to get distortion on the low end it will be there, and right in the pasangers face.

Personally if I had the money, I would run w/ 2 12" facing the rear, Just behind where the seats are, fed by the Sub outs

2 8" (Cause I have em already) facing forward and replacing the back seat, Off of the Rear outs, Crossed on one bridged channel of a 4 channel amp, and the rears off of the other two channels. And a 2 channel amp running components in the front.

I think an 8" in the front floor is just a nuisance if you ever have a passanger in your car.
