just some background info, I'm 17 and I'm taking film school at the Art Institute of Vancouver. I love shooting pictures and film and I'm very picky about my work. Hopefully I can get a nice set of images from this camera to determine whether or not I should continue in photography.

I have considered that camera, how do you feel about it?

sn1p3r845
08-12-2009, 02:27 AM
i havnt used any DSLR's before, but I like it. I always used those stupid compact family girl cameras that never gave a good picture and costed an arm and a leg anyways. I find the lense feels "cheap" so I think I might buy a new one soon. It's just the one that comes with the camera.

Honestly if you're looking to start out this is a good choice. It's not bottom of the line and it's not top of the line. I got mine for $600 CDN on eBay which is a decent price.

Your pictures looks really good for someone who just bought a DSLR. It looks like you're enjoying the depth of field if that made any sense). Keep it up and keep practicing and look at other peoples' photos and learn from them.

But IMO if you enjoy photography and filming, you should of just saved up an extra $300 and get yourself the new Canon Rebel T1i, still an entry level camera and a step up from the XSi, but it also includes 1080p recording. The XSi is still a great camera no doubt, I've actually been wanting to get one myself, but ever since I heard about the T1i, it's what I'm after now. Although I think I heard you can only record about 12 mins or so at a time... but still.

God damn :/ I'm doing this on my own time just cuz, taking my camera and capturing some cool stuff I see and learn a few things on the way... I'm still focused with college right now. Oh and don't act like your stuff is amazing, because you arn't and it's pretty standard **** to me. Seriously dude, look at the first post when I said i JUST got my camera in like August or whatever..

**** off and have a good day. But hey, don't take me from heart, I'm just out there to help you.

ok that may have came off harsh, basically I don't post everything Ive done. And lately I havn't been able to go out and take pics because it's been rainy as hell here (****ing vancouver) and I don't exactly have a car anymore to get to some sick spots I saw.

i was just saying i dont think a car forum is the best place to look for C&C on photography.

that forum is a forum of PROFESSIONAL photographers that are also into cars.
i didnt mean REAL photographers in the way you took it but yea thas mybad.
i wasnt trying to say my stuff is the sh!t cuz i noe it isnt. thats y i joined that forum. to get help and criticism from photographers that know ALOT more than me. i was just also tryna say that i was a total n00b when i began taking pictures and going out to take pictures really helped me out and taught me alot of things that one cant learn just by reading sh!t online. sometimes u just gotta go out and shoot to get better.

i was just tryna help you improve wat u currently have. isnt that why u posted up this thread in the first place?
