Problem - Car is not going into lift when accelerating. It is not cold and the fault is intermittent. Car accelerates normally till about 6000rpm then starts to 'drag' till about 7000rpm then climbs slowly to 8000rpm when I give up. Other times the lift doesn't come in till 7800 rpm. This is in 2nd & 3rd gear. Dealer cannot find any fault. No CEL on. Can anyone offer any advice? It is going back in on Monday.

Sometimes the bolt that secures the rocker shaft breaks and that spins... seems to happen after the engine has been worked on for a mis shift or whatever and the lil bolt gets overtorqued. It can cause that.

happened to me, it's exactly what Griffin said. It will be covered under warrenty. Tell the dealer to check the oil pressure during high rpm, thats what my dealership did to find it.

Jaysong was having this problem. He came over on Sunday and we took his valve cover off, sure enough it was the snapped bolt.

Problem was due to a poorly machined oil gallery in the cylinder head restricting the flow of oil. Dealer got a tiny speck of metal out (like an iron filing I was told)
