OK I was over at the MR2 board and we started talking about doing a big meet next year with all Toyotas. No date has been set but something during summer of 2003 would be nice. I figure if we get Supras, Celicas, MR2s, Lexus, and any other Toyotas, we could hold a big meet.

We could either do a multi day meet or just a one day thing where we meet up and do a BBQ or sumin then go out to either:

1. AutoX - Route 66 raceway has a huge parking lot used for this often (like 40 acres of blacktop or more)

2. Drag Racing -We have a couple of choices....

Route 66 Raceway http://www.route66raceway.com
In Joliet, seating for 30,000. Expensive, but state of the art facility.

Great Lakes Dragaway http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/
In southern Wisconsin. Older drag strip. Probably would cost less and have less rules/regulations.

3. Touring Day - This would be a day long event (9 am to 5 pm) of driving (up to 250 miles) on interesting roads, with unique stops along the way (restaurants, unique stores, other unusual attractions).

4. Track Day - There are no good road tracks real close to chicago...but
Blackhawk farms, near rockford http://www.blackhawkfarms.com a 1.95 mile road coars, not as nice as TGPR.
Or there may be a road course in the Joliet area. There are plans to build one, but I dont know when that will happen

5. Concourse Event - Judging for best cars in a number of categories in a public location or a private location?
A public location would get us possible media exposure, and draw the public out to see us. There may be a cost involved, but hopefully not much.
A private location would just be us and no one else.

6. Banquet or outdoor cook.

7. If you have any other suggestions for a big meet we can combine any of the other options into a multi day meet.

So if anyone who is willing to come to a huge meet in chicago, go ahead and leave suggestions or if you can come or not. Hopefully we can get a big turnout, since we have an entire year to plan.

If your interested in doing an autocross at Route 66 it would be your best interest to come in with Chicago Region SCCA or Tri-State Sports Car Council. Reason, unless your Chicago region SCCA the going rate to rent Route 66's 19 acres of asphalt is well into the $3000 range + the track will require Millions of dollars of insurance coverage.

Just giving you idea whats involved
