Ok guys, I know this has been discussed to great lengths, I need to get a copy of peoples repair orders for the synchro problems with 1/2 or 2/3 preferably 1/2 shifts... causing a grinding sound... My dealer is saying I'm outshifting the synchro's... When even he made the trademark grind when shifting... If you could provide this THanks... Please no w/o about this problem from miss shifting as I have not missshifted...

Heh, aren't they NOT supposed to fix a syncro? My 1-2 is on its way out but didn't really think Toyota would fix it

uhh with only 12000 miles on the ODO they better... they will replace a clutch in this low of miles... a synchro should last years unless abused... Should live 10 years based on my previous manual car experiences...

The dealer called me earlier and said they saw a TSB on difficulty getting in gear... and thought they would try that and see if that helps... I don't think it will. I think that is for mis-shifts.. but I'll let them attempt the fix.. I just hope it doesn't make the feel worse...

It won't help. The select shafts only affect the gate feel not the engagement of syncros. And yeah - Syncros are covered under the regular powertrain warranty.

Griffin, would you say this problem is definately synchros, not me outshifting the perfectly good synchros? I mean, they don't even bother checking anything. Again I'm not sure what would need to be checked to spot a bad synchro as far as the parts go.. But is there anything I can specifically ask them to look at to see if it's worn, or cracked, or broken... whatever wear signs there may be..
