I am just wondering who has it and what pressure you guys are using. Did you guys change the fuel system and injectors? Do you guys have any problems at all with them? I am asking these because I am about to pick up a set.

According to Damon at Turbo-Performance, their GT kit is ready. I think it's been ready since early June. However, the guys at Turbo-Performance say that although they get tons of calls from Celica owners, no one seems really willing to buy one.

Yeah, I wouldsay 90% of eveyone here that says they are getting one, is all talk. Just like the little kiddies say, "I'm going twin turbo and NAWZ. My goal is 450HP at the wheels man". HAHAHA :-) j/p btw

No pics. No dyno. As far as I know, no testing. I'm NOT going to spend $3500+ on a product to be their guinea pig.
indeed i really like to see the dyno and pics since they have the kit why not post it?

Yeah, I would have the same concerns if I had a GT and was looking for a turbo kit. That's why I used to be so intent on trying to get a major company like HKS or GReddy to develop something for us. However, they do have a guinea pig already. Some guy was getting the turbo kit prototyped on his GT when I dropped by the shop some months ago. However, neither he nor Turbo-Performance themselves check out this messageboard. I don't think the Turbo-Performance guys spend very much time on the internet.

I am that guinea pig, I will have it dynoed and S-AFC tuned. However I am not prototype person. I was hoping someone who had this (the shop did say they sold a few turbos) can tell me what else they modded. I am going to change the fuel system along with the turbo install.

Actually, I don't think it was you. This was a while ago when I saw the Celi in their shop, maybe early May. Good luck with your turbo, though. Can't wait to see more of it.

yeah some kid went for the turbo got it on his moms car, his mom took to Las Vegas while running at 10p.s.i. and when they got back the engine is shot. She took it to where she leased the car from (smart huh?) and they said they will not work on this car and the warranty will not cover anything, she was going what the hell this is your car. Turns out the kid turboed the car without moms knowledge, it was never dynoed and turbo performance had to take it off. So not sure if there is still another turboed celica around other than the one Bob told me about, but am pretty sure that kid will not be able to dyno that car. I bet he got a real good woopin too. hahaha

Turbo-Performance says that their GT kit has been ready for a while. They say that although lots of peeps from newcelica.org call and ask about it, no one actually wants to buy one. Their opinion is that newcelica.org peeps are all talk and no action. In a sense, they are correct, but I personally understand why some people want to wait before they make a purchase this big.

I do agree that their are a lot of talkers on this site. Hell, there's talkers everywhere. How many times have you asked someone, what's your plan for the car. "oh I'm going turbo blah blah blah".
That's fine that turbo performance wants to bash on users a bit, but quite frankly I'm getting sick and tired of Companies putting out products, or vendors selling products without so much as a dyno.
This is very similar to Bottle selling the TRD High comp pistons. He's getting irritated because nobody on here will buy them. What am I missing here? I mean, I think some of us have the money to buy those things, but why would I ever buy something that MIGHT work??????????? I guess I"m not a "real racer".......

Well, I can see why Bottle doesn't have any dynos of the TRD pistons. It's TRD's responsibility to promote their parts...not Bottles. And it's not like Bottle could just throw them in a car for a dyno run. ;)
But for Turbo Performance, there is absolutely no excuse for not having dynos by now. And if they think people are going to buy their kit without seeing pictures and performance gains, they're high.

Actually, since this is a TRD Japan part, it becomes the sellers responsibility to relay information. I mean, if it's released in Japan, we should be able to get some information. Like maybe a single URL or page to some gains on a TRD Japan website.

Unfortunately, I don't think they're very internet-savvy, so I doubt that they'll post any dynos and/or pics on the net anytime soon.

I will admit I was one of those "talkers" but given the situation I was in I couldn't bring myself to buy it. I had other priorities and that's what I took care of. Besides, I ended up buying nitrous (my original plan) They have been saying since day one that they will have dyno's on their website along with other pics and still 'til this day they have NOTHING. You can say something gives 80 to the wheels but if you don't have any proof what's the point? Why not say 200 and sucker someone really stupid? A little bit of a stretch but still....I guess they expect us to hand over $3500 without any "REAL" numbers. Right...

They have absolutely no reason to bitch about celica owners buying their turbo, today there is 2 celica being turboed at their facility. I was going to get my turboed by them because they had a used turbo (used less than 1,000 miles) kit, I was going to buy that one have it installed and dynoed but today they gave me some poor excuse about they sold it to a person that came into the shop. Now I already told them I want the kit, I will put down deposit if they require that but they said no wait until the header was done before coming by. Well they did not even have the curtesy saying they messed up should have called me to apologize they just sends me an email. Now the guy who promise me the kit Bob don't even pick up the phone, I know he was there because the person I talked to said wait 1 minute Bob would be off the phone but picks up the phone saying that he is busy talking to someone else. Guys not sure if this is a shop you want to do business with, I certainly am not sure if I want to do business with them anymore. Keyshawn if you can contact them let them know that this business practice they are pushing is not acceptable, no wonder their business is not the way they wanted it to be.

Oh! as to how serious I wanted their kit check out bottom of my sig, thats how serious I wanted it. I was going to dyno it and put results up too, thought thats the least I can do when they sell me the kit. Now I am not so sure that they can do what they claim to do, afterall where were they when they said they will be at SEMA? What did they do when they said they will deliver a kit to me?

I don't really know what to make of the situation. I can see why they think we're all talk, but at the same time, I can see why people would want pics, dynos, etc available for viewing on a website before buying the kit (especially those who are not from CA). They seem like decent guys. They seem to know a lot about turbocharging, but maybe not quite that much about the Celica in particular. Mike, maybe you should ask them to help you contact one of the guys that actually has their Celica GT turbo kit to get a customer's input on how good it is? That's probably the best way to go.

I talked to Bob their turbo specialist, he is the one that promised me their kit. I mean admin@turbo-performance.com is his email if he promise me a kit and do not keep his word, I don't know who to talk to. What he should have done is calling me up right when he sold the kit I would not be so mad, but he did not do that he waited until Friday of last week to email me then ignore my phone calls decided not to talk to me even before I have a chance to ask him for another deal on a new kit. I am serious enough to call him arrange transportation so that I can buy his kit and have it installed he should have the serious businessman attitude to do what he promised. They have no right to bitch at celica owners about seriousness to buy a kit when they themself do not take their customer seriously.
Keyshawn

Sounds like they really botched this deal with you. They should try to give you the best customer service possible, since you are not a "talker" and are down to step up and get their kit. After that mess, it's their duty to try to make it up to you, IMHO. Hopefully, it works out for you, man.

Bob may be a nice guy but they are not good business people, if they promise something to someone they should not turn around and sell it to someone else. Especially when I call them up Monday, Wednesday and Fridays to remind them that I will buy the kit.
well they have not replied with an email offering a kit at a good price, no email at all when the guy I spoke to said Bob is pretty good at returning emails he will email you back right away.
And the guy I spoke to on the phone said Bob will email me right away to let me know, looks like I will be going back in line for the West Covina David Drapers turbo kit. Atleast the one David has will include the fuel system in their $3500, turbo performance charges extra for.

I have nothing against you but I highly doubt that you were there before me, because my buddy was there when he was removing the kit from that kids car. When he got back to his office my buddy AIM me right away. Am sure I got to the kit before you, he sold it to this new person because he said that he do not need a "header" so they gave to the guy. Thats what the guy on the phone told me.

Well I bought a turbo manifold from them and they screwed up with the shipping few times lied to me telling me they sent it , charging it to my card and then waiting a month to receive the goods....Their service dept sucks..! Altought their products are of good quality and fit....no complaint there..! But I think their manufacturing process is slow, they dont have in stock their parts in stock or they make their kits on demand....
Be carefull ....sorry be patient ..the wait is worth their products...
