Went through the archives and didn't find any with the stock rims... but here is one that shows the red pretty good.

question:
i know there are 2 ways to do this.
1) Take off wheel and cover everything with newspaper, and then spary
2) Take off wheel AND caliper, and paint caliper seperately.
I like the results ya'll (ya i'm from texas..we say ya'll) have, and was wondering how ya'll did it.

This is what I used, it worked great. I dont recomend spraying. The 2 part epoxy paint is nice, really tough. Those pics were after a New England winter. Take your time and do it right.

I had my calipers red for a year and they looked nice, stayed the same color and everything with plain high temp spray paint (wheel taken off, sprayed into a cup then painted on).
Then I came back to Miami and realized that with my Auto GT I fit in a little TOO well with the Saturns and 80s (even 70s!) Hondas with red calipers :gay:. This was just abuse of a cool look, so I re-painted em silver and the car looks much cleaner :)
It's a matter of of taste, and where you live I think.
One more thing!!! Lots of coats...I'd say at least 3 or 4. Just let it dry an hour or so (it's spray paint, should be long enough), then recoat. Worked for me...even though it took a whole Sunday for both wheels :)

hey i was wondering...pep boys has this caliper paint made by Classic Coat which is apparently $5.00.
Is it supposed to be that cheap..i sure dont wanna take of my wheels and put this paint on etc and have it chip off in a month.
Perhaps a hardener and a clear cloat needs to be put on as well.
Anyone?

The stuff I used was G2 paint it came in 2 cans, one was the hardener the other the paint. you brush it on, drys very hard and shiny, you wont get those results with spray paint. I paid something like $45. I wouldnt waste my time with $5 paint.
