well im looking into getting coilovers and i was wondering if the aftermarket pillow mounts are really necessary.

my shocks and springs (kyb agx's + Rsr Ti) are still good but with the added weight of the turbo, my car is a bit too low for my taste and would like to raise it up a bit.

what are the benefits of having after market pillow mounts? mind you that im not a track wh0re. but i would like the ability to adjust my height and dampening to compensate for the added weight. TIA everyone.

Easier camber adjustment, more direct feel since it's solid metal bearing instead of rubber that's pretty much all I can think of unless your into looks, it looks better in the engine bay with a set of colored pillow mounts?? but that's not really a benefit

Just the camber adjustment is all it really does.

With the rubber stockies, they eventually degrade, quicker with aftermarket suspension. P/U's dont cuz theyre metal.

There isnt the same rubber bearing, there is just a rubber "gasket". However, those aside, P/U also replace ths stock Mounts, which allow your vehicle to sit lower as well.

That all depends on what you want, your planned use, and how much you wish to spend. Also with p/u's, your rear sits even with the front. So, first decide all this, then you can make an informative decision.

Judgin from your first post, If your two main objectives is ride height control and dampening capability, then I would choose TEIN SS-P because you get ride height control and you can throw in EDFC to control dampening on the fly. These are all easily installed as a DIY job. As well, replacing the stock upper mounts and everything it saves some weight, counterbalancing your "turbo issue". TIA for considering my .02 C

ZERO, w/o P/U's, remembering app. to app. and manufacturer to manufacturer varies; in regards to these TEIN SS vs SS-P, the rear sits a little higher. The P/U were meant to replace the stock mounts. The P/U is way shallow and allows for a much even drop, to allow also room for EDFC and clearance for hood + F. Strut Bar. Since there is less material for this and because P/U is a more aggressive, track oriented mount, it also allows for full even suspension ride. There is just so only so much one can do with stock/OE anything. However, the difference realised isnt much; 1 MM :o: . and youre welcome TRIPPIN.

also if your lazy and don't want to reuse stock upper mounts instead of using a spring a compressor and unbolting your stock stuff, if you buy pillow mounts you can just install it on the coilovers and make it an easy take out old stuff install new kinda of deal without transferring any old parts over even the rears I both entirely new rear upper mounts so I wouldn't have to disassemble the old struts

^ +1 Bump :bang: True that, to easier install. TEIN comes preinstalled, unless youre also using EDFC so plug n play baby!

its definately easier to install the SS-P vs the SS. Only took me 3 hours with the SS-P vs the 6 with the SS. Also the EDFC is a lot of fun ;)

Good choice man. I think TEIN by far has more fans than any other... but C-ONE, for some reason has hard core die hard fans... like Raiders.
