Hey Clint, I was wondering what kind of deal you could possibly get on some TE-37's in 4x100, 16x7 front and 16x7.5 rear, in a offset around 38-43 (still checking on the exact offset I need). Also, how much extra would it be for some tires and what kind of tires could you snag?

I was planning on getting some SSR Comps from tirerack but they keep raising their dam prices. They used to be around $249 first time I checked and then they slowly raised up to around $300 or so a wheel! Dayumm. I like the TE-37's design for my car anyway. Thanks!

I'll have to check... Russ just ordered his but found out that they're gonna take 3 months to ship in from Japan. They don't have 'em readily stocked anywhere right now.

I'll make a trip down there sometime this weekend and check on that for you... what kind of price are shooting for on these things?

I'm aiming for about $1300 for the entire package but I don't if it will be around there. How much do you think 15's in the same bolt pattern and widths would be?

mitch please confirm your presence at the july 7th mr2 meet. go to mr2.com and check off that you will be attending.

if you really want ssr you can go to eurosports.

by the way, why teh 16x7.5 rear why not go with 16x8. staggered fitment of rims are always better for overall handling with rear wheel drive vehicles.

I'm gonna throw just an approximate idea of what I think Chad will do for me on those rims, give or take $100. I'm pretty sure for the combo you're asking for, I could prolly get them for AROUND $1600 shipped, just rims. Prolly looking at $2k with tires, but gimme some time to check on it and get the firm word. At any rate, they're gonna be more expensive than the SSR type C's.

The 7.5 is actually 2lbs lighter than the 8" wide 16" TE-37s... I think that's what Mitch might be shooting for? I didn't know the diff could be that large with just a half inch more width!

Tirerack actually gets their SSRs from Eurosport, funny. Sean told me about it the other night and I do remember Duane telling me that years back. Wonder whatever happened to him? I haven't talked to him in years since I stopped surfing all the time and they closed up the Aiea location.

Alex - Confirmed. Eurosport? All the rims I've seen there were Enkei's and Chromes, plus even those weren't priced well. I take it as you need hookups. :( Dammit, I wonder what Valerie Nakamura would say if I asked someone who knows her better than I do for some hookups (she's the daughter of the guy who owns Eurosport).

Oh ya, alex I was going staggered, 16x7 and 16x7.5. Also, on the Spyder you don't need that large an offset in width. The car's extremely neutral the way it is stock. Plus 7.5" width is pushing it in the Spyder and you don't need as much rubber as you do for MkIIs. Ask "randychase" on the boards (Prosolo driver), he knows. And the staggered rims are more typical of mid-engined or rear-engined cars with most of the weight in back. Front engined-rwd don't really need staggered rims/tires.

Clint - $1600? Hmm, ok well I guess I better hold off a bit more unless the SSRs @ Euros is nicely priced. I'll drop by there sometime. And yep, you got it right, weight/width/strength are the three most important things to me in that order. I don't really care how they look, I just want something "decent." Besides, most of the lightweight forged rims look nice to me.

hmm, te37 versus the ssr competitions.

i would pick the ssr comps, versus the volks. see te37 too many i do. see ssr comp less, yes.

yeah man, sorry. I'm curious so I'll ask, but I don't think they'll give me the $1300 price you're looking for... :( Have you thought of perhaps staying with the 15" size and just going wider than stock? That would put you in the price range you're looking for.

One of the bad things about staying stock is that the tire selection is pathetic in 15's.

Hehe, hey alex I like the way you said that "...see te37 too many i do..." it reminds me of Yoda in Star Wars, J/J. But ya I totally agree with you.

With that said I'm still thinking about 15's, I'll check Euros later when I got time.
